If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Canadian 2021 Telluride

I ordered a 21 GG SXL NF in ontario. Price through Orangeville first and took that to my local dealer. Got just over 4k under msrp. Just heard Thursday that its headed to the compound via rail and will be here by end of month. A lot quicker than I expected!
4K under MSRP!!!!!!!!! Great

$4K under MSRP including Freight &Preparation?
Yes. Good deal it seems. I will see what they try and slip in when I pick it up. Hopefully they are true to the quote.

Hopefully, I only managed to get $3k off the MSRP on an SXL NF but also got them to drop all their extra fees. I signed the paperwork so the deal is locked in, now to wait for it to arrive

Just double checked and I'm actually $3650 below msrp. I just sent a deposit and never signed anything.

I ordered Feb 24th and just heard last Thursday it was headed this way via rail. I haven't received a vin or asked yet. Said it should be at dealer by end of the month.

3) You can the the OEM hitch from Kia, I had it installed.
4) They do not offer the 7-pin in Canada, just the 4-pin install. I cant say it it's prewired for 7 as opposed to 4, but I really don't know. However, my dealer paid a third party to install a 7-pin and a brake controller for me before it even arrived, but there was a mix up in the parts. In fact I finally got it done today (had to wait for the right parts), just picked it up a couple hours ago, and it turned out great. The brake controller was not mounted inside on my instructions. The quick connect cable for the controller is under steering wheel, and when I need to use it (5% of the time) I can plug in and use, and when not (95% of the time), I can put it in the glove box and tuck the cable away.

I got a 7 pin, installed by my dealer. They are offering them in Canada.

which dealer is that?

I went to my dealer today. Kia Gabriel West in Montreal.... to pickup my SX Telluride Gravity Gray.
At car inspection, they installed a 4-pin instead of 7-pin. So I talked to my agent about it saying specifically that I validated with him before the whole sales process and test driving the Telluride that the full tow package was indeed 7-pin. He had confirmed to me yes after supposedly checking with his accessories department...
Low and behold tonight the accessories guy tells me that Kia Canada do not have the wiring for a 7-pin. They have the 7-pin but no wiring for it in Canada. So it's a non-functional (dare I say non-legal) 7-pin.
I talked to the accessories guy and the agent, why confirm to me you can get the 7-pin if it's non-functional? Then the agent goes on to tell me one client had left the dealership with a 7-pin but that was non-functional.... but because the client hadn't asked about the wiring, too bad for him.

I'm really pissed off after thinking that 2021 Telluride had 7-pin when Canada doesn't.... Maybe wait for a 2022 Canada. I do not know.
I've never walked off a lot without my car...
Never dealt with such dishonesty...

Do not know what to do about the Telluride.... is Palisade 7-pin?

This thread might be helpful. 2021 7-pin trailer harness - for Prestige only? or

I think I saw your T-Ride on the lift over there today ! There was another Nightsky Gravity Gray to be delivered the accessories guy told me...

Are you a body shop guy? A mechanic?

Yeah I saw the nightsky GG. I have preference for bench seats so had to go SX.

I'm going to wait for the dealer to let me know what they're going to do.... Could order 7 pin harness from states and plug and play I believe...
Or get a local aftermarket installer

Nope just a regular T-Ride owner looking for accessories

@Johndoe

The manual states that anything you're towing over 1650lbs need brakes. If they installed towing equipment that does not satisfy the manual, they are not following their own instructions, plain and simply.

If I had paid for it already I wouldn't rest until they fixed the situation somehow.

And yes, if you didn't do your homework in regard of 4 vs 7-pin, they don't care. They know less than you, even though they shouldn't.

From what I read on another thread specifically about towing, to install the 7 pin harness, they also need to run another wire into the cabin for you to be able to operate the brakes or something. You can get a Bluetooth brake controller but I think there is still extra wiring that is needed. What I have read is that the dealers who are doing this get a local outside shop to do the install. If you search for towing in the forum you will probably find the thread, it is quite long.

Dealership sales manager let me know that they're going to outsource the 7pin and the brake controller. Brake controller will be a bluetooth wireless solution with no interior dash solution to hook up. All will be certified.

Canada cannot get 7pin USA kit. If any Canada dealership tells you 7pin it's an aftermarket install. Moreover, self leveling not included as part of "tow package" unlike US and they will not themselves install self leveler on SX.

Yeah the Bluetooth solution is not acceptable to me. I need my brake pedal to brake what I'm driving, that's how we are supposed to drive. I don't want to be fussing about with apps on my phone in an emergency when I need to bring the multi-ton chunk of metal that is flying behind my car down to a halt.
If they would want to outsource the installation of the 7-pin including the wiring, and certify it, then yes, that would be acceptable to me.
As for the self-levelling shocks yeah, that makes sense, but from what I've read they're not really very needed for towing a trailer.

I see. Well. I had just about every accessory. How you like the Thule crossbars? I haven't seen any with some.
Well I mostly bought interior accessories. Was procrastinating about the sidesteps (black) since I drive an Ebony Black Edition. I do not tow nor require crossbars. However I am shopping for PPF and will ceramic coat as well

The Bluetooth app is purely to configure it and adjust the settings but you don’t need the app on to operate. The brake controller operates on its own using a motion sensing accelerometer to determine when the car is braking. This method means they can run a wire to the battery and not have to run any wire into the cabin through the firewall.

Well I've seen good reviews of the Curt Echo

Do you really need side steps? Telluride is not that high. I felt that it'd more be in the way while I step in and off.

I am interested in finding out more. According to the APA price report, the difference between MRSP and Invoice is $3118. Did you do a trade-in at the same time? Or order a bunch or accessories or extended warranty? I am planning to make a deal this week, so this info would be really helpful. I am nowhere near Orangeville, unfortunately, in the Ottawa area.

My new whip picked up tonight.
Forgot to take a pick of 7 pin hitch. Dealer got me a Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller.
Haven't installed my Weathertech mud flaps yet. Was pretty late by the time I got home. There's a push pin at the bottom of mud guards and I just didn't have the patience in low light.
