• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Has anyone had a clear coat placed in the Telluride (xpel, sun tech, etc). Went over pass for first time a got a bunch of chips on the front. Wondering if I should do the partial that goes 24 inches up the hood and 1/3 of fenders or entire hood and pannels

PPF is quite popular and plenty of members have done it. It is one the best protection against rock chips. If price is not a concern, get it covered as much as possible(less edge on the panel). Some even have ceramic on top of it for more protection, but ceramic does not protect against rock chips. Personally speaking, I have ppf on my other car but not on the Telluride. I expect some battle scars on daily driven family hauler. BTW, don't try to save some money by ordering pre-cut films online. You will not be successful on your first try no matter how easy it looks on YT. Don't ask me how I know. :D Spend the $ and get it done professionally.

Experience talking there 😂

Just search on here for PPF. You'll find some extensive discussions. I have a full front Xpel and it's great.

Is this protective coating you speak of available at local detailers or is this best done at the dealership? Learning all the things.....

The skill of the installer is critical. IMO, you want a specialist, not the dealer. Search Google in your local area for PPF. Or go to the Xpel website and use their search for installers. Xpel and 3M are probably the two most well known products.

I did exactly this.

Most detailers call it the "highway" package. Well worth it as I've already found pebbles stuck up in my XPEL ultimate in my front bumper. It gets costly once you start doing larger areas.
