• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So today I noticed that the Rear Glass Panel has a crack in it. I saw it the other day while driving but thought that it was the reflection from the spoiler. Odd place for a crack, it starts about 5 inches from the upper left side and is about 8 inches long.
Called my dealership today and they will have the DM call me tomorrow.
My concern is not having it replaced, but how will it be documented. If it is documented as an accident then that will show on the Carfax and possibly lower the resale value. If listed as a Manufacturer Defect, then it should not matter.

It wouldn’t be considered an accident...could be a battle to get it covered by Kia though. Keep us posted.

Do you know what happened or caused it?

If you only see a crack, then it could be defect. If you see a chip along the crack, even if it’s tiny then it’s probably not a warranty issue.

I had a windshield replaced via warranty (different vehicle) and that’s how they determined it as warranty or not.

So it turned out that it is a deep scratch. We figured that it happened during delivery. The dealership is replacing it today. I hope that they know how to replace one without causing and other damage.
They are also doing my Protection Package. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
