Anyone know if this is just the dealer i went to, he said I cant place an order on an SX with tow as Kia locked them out and we have to wait till the 2021 Telluride. Should i look elseware?
Yes, probably dealer you went to. Some dealers don't take orders. Use the tools on the forum to help find your desired vehicle and call those dealers.
If you post your location, you might get a reference for a good dealership near you.
Search production stats on forum for a Google Sheet.
Read "Scored" thread for an example of how to make these tools work for you.
Who's the dealership? They do orders. they told me they are going to have to call 7 customers and cancel all there orders because they wont be in on time.
Location is Indianpolis, IN
Order from Kia of Muncie.
Who's the dealership?
I got mine from their sister dealership at the Automall. The people there told me that they do not do orders. They sell vehicles that arrive or will allocate incoming vehicles to customers who have expressed a desire for certain vehicles. So as jw_tx21 suggested above, I would look at all the Tellurides allocated to Ray Skillman, and then call to see if any that you like are available.Ray Skillman Shadeland Kia & Mitsubishi

Thanks so much for the info. Just looking for and SX with tow no prestige so I will see what they have to offer. I’m going to reach out to Muncie and see what there timeline is tooThe reason for cancelling the orders may be due to the change to KFOS only allocations and orders. Thus, it may give them an excuse to cancel orders that are in kdealer (or Corporate canceled them because they weren't following directions), and they are using the "2021 MY" as a background story to try to appease those customers and offer explanation. Many dealerships lie. Read the thread "Latest info on ordering through KFOS" if you care about more details.
Muncie is a great dealership and can provide you with realistic expectations for your order, but at this point their order queue is quite full, so take that into consideration - depending on what trim and options you want.
Otherwise, use the tools to find an incoming unit and place a deposit on that. If you want the "Prestige" package, that will be difficult to find. As I suggested, read thread "Scored" and see posts by others who used tools to find their desired vehicle.
Also, Ray Skillman Shadeland is a smaller dealership. Their percentage of Prestige has been low if that's what you were looking for. Ray Skillman Westside and the one on US 31 South are larger dealerships - they get more allocations. The one on US 31 South has had over 239 Tellurides delivered (#18 in Country) - but only 15 of those have been Prestige. Try them if not Prestige.
At this point in the game, the best way to get a vehicle is to do what many here have suggested (including you multiple times). Look at the sheet. Find dealerships in the area. Figure out what they have coming. Find what you like. Call the dealership and try to work a deal. If I was comfortable with a price increase, knew that orders placed now for 2020s would roll over to 2021s, and didn't mind waiting 3-8 months, then I guess I'd go the ordering route. Otherwise, I'd call a bunch of dealerships using the method we've discussed a lot.The reason for cancelling the orders may be due to the change to KFOS only allocations and orders. By elsewhere, do you mean Highlander, Traverse, or the frumpy Pilot?Anyone know if this is just the dealer i went to, he said I cant place an order on an SX with tow as Kia locked them out and we have to wait till the 2021 Telluride. Should i look elseware?

Nope, just a different dealer. We already test drove a dozen vehicles but actaully like the telluride the most overall. funny how it wasnt just the value per dollar but the ride overall was pretty good. WAY bettery then the new 10 speed explorer, straight up hated that. Pilot was probably the 2nd in our runnning but the telluride will be 3k less and my wife liked the astetic more, and i liked the warrenty
I'm the same way. I like it better than all the others.
I got a deal on a 2020 MDX SH AWD Tech for $10K off MSRP and it came in at $42xxx which was about $4K LESS than the SX-P that I ordered.
While the MDX is a fine car, it's styling has always been "meh" and I've owned 4 of them.
Kia brilliantly made their FWD platform look like a RWD. The MDX and Pilot front proportions have always been off and look like a modified minivan.
The new Explorer has "the look" and I've not driven it. Probably should just for $hits and giggles.
I bought a 2020 Explorer and Ford is buying it back. Failed transmission at 4,000 miles. It’s been a nightmare since BlackI'm the same way. I like it better than all the others.

Friday. Looking for a SX-P and can’t find one in MA. Can’t order because I’ll be without a vehicle in 2-3 weeks
