• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Order to delivery finally happened a few weeks ago!
“Finance” says.. first 21 Telly to go out 🤗

well..this would be a rant/rave post
1st.. 24 hrs and 200 miles later.. I love her so far

Dealership experience gave me a migraine and uncertainty experience.
• after all finance was done, wrote my check etc. We began the “here are the features” walk-thru
• at the moment 3 defects found: 1 hole puncture to a leather seat, strange stain on the leather on the 3rd row, and the cup holder to the back seat had gouges in it
•I told them they obviously need to fix these issues, considering it just came off the truck from factory. The first sales manager told me he could just tear up my paperwork and sell it to someone else tomorrow! UM NO! I waited 6 months for this vehicle, they need to fix it!
•They bring over the service manager.. he actually calls Kia and gets a solution for me. Now how hard was that? What a jerk, the first guy

Update..1 week later.. I have the seat cover replaced that had the hole in it, and cup holder is replaced. Still waiting on 3rd row to be fixed

This kind of Sales Manager is the reason people hate buying cars!

Anything specific you found worked in how to get them to do the right thing? I am picking mine up this week so I am curious out the dialogue went and how you got the answer you deserved.

Well, my guess is that we were in the middle of the lobby arguing about this, the asshole walked away and they sat me down with two other managers as the car was in the back now getting “evaluated”. The other managers I think were just smart enough not to piss off a customer and get a bad report. My bf was telling me to walk away and not to accept that for a new car, and I just said I am not walking away, they are going to fix it! 😊

Hi @kittyne, Do you know how they fixed the leather seat? I also got a 2021 (SX) about 2 weeks ago and there was a small tear in the seat leather on delivery. They said they would have a local auto upholsterer "fix" the damage but I'm wondering if this is sufficient. Thanks.

Neil

So far they have ordered a new seat cover and had an upholster guy come put it on.. but then they called me and said the arm needed a spring they had to get in. I have yet to take it back in the get the arm put back on.

I've gotta say that the one I originally ordered had a bunch of scratched interior plastic panels when it came in. Very noticeable but I knew I wasn't likely buying that one as I had found a 2021 that I planned on buying so I didn't try to see if they would clean up.

I don't know what it was, a combination of scratches and maybe a half a$$ job of detailing on delivery but it did not feel like a brand new car inside. It felt like a used car with about 30k on it. It just felt off for a new car when I sat in it.

I hope there not building them so fast they are cutting corners!

What the F - I'd be pissed if I were you...and what you do is exactly go off the rails in the showroom. Dealers will say no but always pick up your car on a weekend when there is foot traffic in/out of the dealership...they usually "behave" a bit better with potential customers lurking around you...

Potential QC issues rearing their ugly head?
Or a Dealer picking a crappy detail shop to clean up the car before delivery...hmm...

Some of their possible excuses were maybe they cup holders got damaged from the way the “robot” put it in place. The seat puncture from the way the seat was folded. (Which we were blaming it on the detail person). They said.. oh he would never have done that accidentally 🙄.
And the imperfection in the nappa was because probably that cow had a imperfection..
The one manager that was trying to solve the problems said that Telly is their best and newest vehicle and they want to know and fix all QC issues.

Well it’s good to know they want to be aware of the quality but it doesn’t excuse the way the sales person treated you! I was luck enough to get mine last September and have had no problems with it but now I like the nightfall but just can’t see spending the money trading mine.

The downside to the ridiculous demand for these vehicles is that the below average salespeople/managers dont have to actually work, since the vehicle sells itself. When we get out of this bizarro world demand for one specific vehicle, they will actually have to go back to working again.
