If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Do you have any complaints about your Telluride?

🤖 AI Summary

Thanks for the reply. But I’m referring to my post #170 where I am replying to the general question “Are there things you don’t like about your Telluride?” I wrote a lengthy reply, but I went in a few times to correct grammer/spelling errors and add a few things I really love about it. Its been stuck in moderation ever since.
Im thinking either I edited it too many times, added an emoticon that was funky, or maybe the forum powers-that-be thought my don’t-like list is bad PR for the Telluride?

As a general rule, quoting posts over a year old one is usually not a great idea, as the issue has already been addressed by other forum members or Kia itself (like in the case of remote start).

So, I will add these instructions: You have to push “lock” twice and then, Press & Hold the remote start button down (quite firmly) until your car starts.
Just to be clear, you only have to press lock once to get the process started. I've seen this misinformation a lot. It's unnecessary. But if it makes you feel better hitting it twice, you do you.

Here's more info here, from page 4-10 of your owner's manual.

Remote start with fob

I’ve done that before on other forums and it’s apparently a way to prevent bot postings.

I do see your post 170, but it’s not ‘lengthy’, per say

😆 LOL. Actually, I like to hit it twice and click my heels 3 times.
I find that automatically starts it up in sport mode.

That’s strange. From my view, the post is preceded by a warning ” This message is awaiting moderator approval, and is invisible to normal visitors.” Maybe I’ll delete it and repost.

I prefer the cup holders that have a rubber insert

Double checked, there are rubber inserts at the bottom of the cupholder. But if you don’t like the prongs, I have heard they can be popped out.

Is this the small spot you speak of for your key fob? If so, that would be why it’s not fitting, it’s not designed for your key, that’s a place for your finger to fit to engage the parking break. I place my keys in the little cubby in between the cup holders and wireless charging area (that’s if I even take my keys out of my pocket to begin with). Not sure if that’s what that spot is for, but they fit just fine when I use it that way.

I was just about to say the same thing about the parking break too after coming back from a drive. The small square cubby is for juice boxes? haha 😆

No reading lights for the rear passengers
I also took a look at the map lights and there are map lights for left and right passengers for both 2nd and third row. This is in my SXP, but I think the only difference for EX is that the lights are halogen bulbs?

Why would this be awaiting moderation? Did I break a rule?

Did you post photos too? My lengthy post for swapping plate and reverse lights also got held for moderator review as well. I thought it was because when I was a new member and had limited privileges to post too many photos.

Lastly I just notice that the C and D pillars are not matched with the premium headliner as A and B. I wonder why they didn’t keep it all the same.

Nope. No photos. I’m pretty sure it’s because I accidentally replied to my own post, rather than to the OP.

Regarding cup holders: I like the cup holders, although I prefer them side by side. I think that was possible in my previous suv because the gear shift was on the steering column. On the Telly, I also like how the second row cup holders are raised up on the back of the front console. Most cars I’ve been in, the 2nd row cup holders are down near the floor, which I’ve never liked.

I think I’ve solved the mystery of the invisible post! There’s two posts #170! How strange. I will repost the second one.

This is pretty common: why waste money on fancy materials where no one will ever see them? The nappa leather is only on the first two rows (the third row doesn't get fancy leather), and the pillars are only wrapped in the nice material forward of those first two rows. The A pillar is nice since that's what the driver will look at, and the B pillar is nice since that's what the second row passengers will look at. The third row and cargo area don't count, so it's just standard materials for them. Also, you could argue that you wouldn't want that headliner material creeping so closely into the cargo area where it would be much more likely to get dirty. With just the A and B pillars covered, even when you fold down every seat, it would be unlikely that you would get any pillars dirty from cargo.

So it's inevitable! No ride is perfect. Right? What are one or two of the things you dislike about your Telluride?
I’ve had my ‘21 Telly SX for a month now and I love it. But since you asked, here are my nit picky peeves:
  • Headrest tilt cannot be adjusted. Im 5’2” and wish I could tilt it back a bit, especially if my hair is up in ponytail. My passenger is very short and his head is push forward uncomfortably, unless the seat is reclined awkwardly. Sounds like taller folks really like the headrests, though.
  • I can’t seem to find a comfortable setting in the driver’s seat, even with the steering wheel column pushed all the way in, I have to choose between feeling too close to the steering wheel, or stretching to reach the gas pedal. I mean, 5’2” is not that short, is it? Even worse, I can barely reach the brake pedal & start button, until the car starts up and returns to my settings. I guess I should turn off the easy-entry setting, but then my husband will be in the fetal position until the car starts. Most likely, I‘m missing my ex-Tahoe’s adjustable foot pedals. Hopefully, I’ll get more comfortable when the muscle-memory wears off.
  • I love the dropped down section in the cargo area. It’s great to not have groceries rolling all around the back of the car when driving home. But like others, I don’t love the angled, detached cover. Might just take it out of the car altogether.
  • No good place to mount a cell phone. Even the custom pro-clip mounts cover some buttons on the dash, as do vent mounts I’ve tried. I can’t spare a front cup holder, as I almost always have a passenger. The 12-volt cell phone holder bumps into the shift in Park mode.
  • I can’t get the Bluetooth system to stop demanding access to my cellphone every 5 minutes. No matter how many times I tell my phone to “forget this device.” (The Kia).
  • I’ve only got 500 miles on it, but around-town mpg is not great. Usually 12-15 mpg city  But on the highway, the mpg is fantastic 28-30!
That seems like a long list, but if you asked what I love about this car, I’d be here all night! So, so many cool features about this car. The 360 safety camera system tops the list. Another one, is that almost everything that has an onscreen setting, also has an old-school button option. I don’t like doing touchscreen adjustments when I’m driving. The real buttons probably contribute to lack of real estate for a cell phone mount.

what are you surprised, the seats do not match.🤣😂
I’m not quite sure what you’re even trying to prove by showing the side of the seat that goes against the center console. You can argue about having nice materials in the third row/cargo area, but no one will ever see this side of the seat. None of the vehicles I currently have (including the impeccably Korean-built Palisade) have anything other than fabric in that spot.

I'm not proving anything to anyone, just a photo.
What makes you think that pallisade is impeccably - it stinks of garlic😂.

For example, this was not the case on my 2017 sedona and 2019 sedona. And this is the first time I have met such a mixture. Usually either leather or fabric.

In past posts you seemed pretty eager to criticize anything built in America and talk about how well-made things from Korea are, even those from the same manufacturer.

My Palisade smells just fine, thank you... none of the issues that a few out there are reporting.

And to get us back on track, to follow up regarding @Tellthemride noting the C- and D-pillars in the SX Prestige don’t have the fancy premium headliner material, I noticed that the Palisade has its C-pillar wrapped in the nice cloth. Apparently Hyundai cares more about its third row passengers? But an odd difference either way.

Can the plastic trim be plastidipped to maintain the black? Or will that chip off and peel?

I am not criticizing, I am stating facts.
Here in your post I highlighted these facts, you yourself write about it. 🤫

5’ 2” is pretty short, if we are being honest
Roughly 20% of women in the US are 5’2” or shorter so @HeyMimi ’s complaints are relevant for a lot of people. In fact the headrest issue was one I was worried about before placing my order since my current car has this same problem. Cars (much like most things in the world) are built to comfortable fit the average size man.

@HeyMimi - both myself and the misses are short at 5’4. During test drives, neither of us experienced the issue you describe. Of course, it was only a short lived drive, but can you further explain?

Here’s an interesting video about why the headrest issue became a problem around 2009 : video: Fixing my pain in the neck car headrest with a car jack! https://youtu.be/lWJ4lDIS6SU

I’ve been driving around in my 2008 Chevy Tahoe for the past 12 years, which had headrests that could be adjusted by pulling it all the way forward, which allowed you to adjust the pitch by 3 increments. Some of the documentation that came with my Telluride shows that option, but I can’t do it, and the salesman said it’s not possible. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able remove them like they do in the video. I can extend them upward, but they don’t come out all the way, or I might remove or insert them backward.
It only bothers me a little bit, but my adult son has a disability and is only 58” tall. It’s a problem for him. Here are some photos that show the headrests in my car: 53DB7471-0B47-495F-BB36-3DE48A1A00E4.webp24040396-3D03-431C-9066-3EA45E6E4ECD.webp
