• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... For those that use one or the other and or go between them, what has your experience been like? I am not interested in Sport or Snow as they each have their place. My assumption is that with Smart, it is kind of a little of everything depending on how you accelerate and or what terrain you are on (correct me if I am wrong). As a result, I am really more curious on what Comfort vs. Eco is like when driving and how each affects MPG.

Anyone have some good experience in either mode and or why do you use Comfort/Smart/Eco (as in, what made you stick with 'that' mode)?

Seriously, you just need to get your Telluride already. :) I haven't found any meaningful MPG difference in the modes - I usually leave it in Smart mode. Sport adds a significant and fun boost that I use from time to time. I imagine it would consume more fuel as engine revs higher and stays higher.

I believe smart just goes between comfort and eco...if you’re just cruising it’ll be in eco, if you give it some gas it’ll go to comfort, and the “smart” icon light on the dash will change from blue (eco) to white (comfort) so you know what mode you’re in. I usually leave it in smart but I’m still learning something new every day. My wife actually made fun of me the other night because I was reading the manual in bed...you know, some light leisurely reading?!? I’ve never read a manual before with other cars but it’s 2020 and this thing has a lot of tech.

We use SMART exclusively because it does automatically adjust according to how you are driving.

Eco mode it accelerates like a turtle.

In SPORT it is fun.

Our MPGs average 19+ in the city and 24 - 26 at 85mph on the interstate....

Actually, SMART will go to SPORT mode under acceleration. You can tell because the SMART will turn red.

That’s what my sales guy mentioned, I honestly haven’t seen it yet though because I’ve been trying to be “gentle” with breaking it in. I’ve just switched it manually when I wanna get a little more pep but good to know.

I hate you all, with your Telly's in the driveway. Just saying.

We all* put our time in. I just got mine a week ago after waiting 8 months. Hate away but we* were all in your spot at some point. :)

*some people are just super lucky S.O.B.s get what they want on allocation.

We ordered ours on the very first day orders could be placed in February 2019. Four months later in June 2019, we finally took delivery. Good things come to those who wait.

Oh, I'm well away, I just like to whine.

You call that a wait? :)

Well, kinda.

It was partially self-inflicted. Cindy and both ordered one that day: one in silver and the other in black copper. Paint chips weren't available yet, so we were ordering blind and weren't sure which color we'd prefer. The silver arrived inn April, but the blueish tinge was ugly to us, so we let someone else have it. Two months later and we had the first Black Copper in Texas.

I waited 3 months for my SXP (October to January), felt like forever to me. But I empathize with all the members here that are waiting 6+ months. I’d probably have to just constantly keep my mind busy with other things to not obsess over the anticipation.

On the topic of discussion, I don’t notice any difference in the modes. Sport will provide better throttle response. Note that sport mode cannot be enabled by default, it will always divert back to ECO/COMFORT/SMART when restarting the car, whichever was used before setting to Sport. I typically drive in Smart mode.

My two cents. I leave mine in Smart Mode all the time, and it's just dandy. The fly-by-wire has a bit of lag, but not problematic. If I ever feel like spending a few bucks I may add a Pedal Commander. I have noticed, when playing with Sport mode, that the engine stays reved significantly higher than in Smart mode (like 1K more). So that alone tells me the gas mileage will be less. But it is definitely more responsive in Sport mode.
