• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... About a month ago, I purchased a 2021 Telluride. Two times I have had my check engine light come on (stays lit, not flashing) and a warning appears on the car and in the UVO app. The warning diagnostic issue on UVO states:

"Powertrain: P013100: A possible condition with your Engine Control System has been detected. A full system check is recommended to be done when convenient. Please contact your local dealership to schedule an appointment."

When this first happened, I immediately contacted the dealership and they said they had not heard of this warning, but I scheduled to come in to have it checked out. The next day when driving the car, the engine light was no longer on and the UVO warning was no longer present. We thought potentially it had to do with the fuel door and the gas cap, though both appeared to be shut and secure. Now that the light is on again, I am curious if this has been a problem for anyone else or if there is an obvious answer to why this is happening. Any advice is much appreciated!

They replaced a lot of stuff under the hood-the conversations are started as to what now-I have lost trust in the Telluride!
Agree! They just told me it was a "bad coil and a bad plug" and it is ready to be picked up. I asked them what would be causing a "bad coil and a bad plug" in a brand new car!? They said "Most likely a bad part from the factory, when the coil went bad it caused the spark plug to go bad" My concern is what kind of damage has it done to the rest of the car.. ugh so frustrating!

Kia was going to put a recorder on my car but I had to sign away their responsibility and since I wouldn't sign the release. I never heard back from them. However, I hv not had an additional problems since all of this happened. No idea, but it wasn't my fuel or gas cap!
Spoke too soon!

My wife is leasing a 2020 Telluride S AWD. The check engine light would come on after we got an oil change at the dealership. The first time the light came on the dealership said it needed some fuel additive and a coil cleaning. Cost us almost $200.00! Next oil change, check engine light came on again. Reset the light. Now at 37k miles, they had to swap injectors 1&2. Same problem. Replaced the entire cylinder with a brand new one. Drove it about 100 miles and now the entire vehicle is shaking and driving bad. Now the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) needs replaced. Parts department states PCM's on back order since May 2021....What would you do? We have a lease and can't drive it. The dealership has no Tellurides in stock. She did order a 2022 SX but the order hasn't been picked up yet.

That's ridiculous....I understand parts go bad but paying on a leased car you can't drive and they can't figure out the problem isn't a confident feeling....KIA needs to make it right with folks here!

I spoke to the parts manager who confirmed the part is on back-order but has requested it to be expedited. Should have an update on Friday.....

update...PCM arrived on Monday 4/4 . Since it took so long, Kia closed the original ticket so the dealership had to re-open a new one. Installed the PCM and got the same error codes. The local Kia technician was told to redo everything again. Still got the same error codes. Now were waiting for one of the 6 national Kia Corporate techs to get back to the dealership. The dealership put us in a Mazda Rental in the meantime...a Mazda is not a Telluride. My wife says Kia is going to owe her a New Telluride. I wouldn't even know how to go about that.

I’m having the same issue with my telluride. Purchased a 2022 Telluride in October. Yesterday (4/6), my check engine light came on with the code “P219D00”. The dealership said they can’t get me in for another two weeks and don’t drive it until then. They also don’t have a loaner car. Well that’s not possible (and ridiculous)… I have to work, I have two kiddos, and a life. I live in the mountains and public transportation isn’t an option. Went up the chain of command and now waiting for a call back from the manager. So frustrating.

Why would anyone put up with this? I would have bought a different vehicle from a different manufacturer!

Having the same issue on my 2020 KIA Telluride. It has 15000 mile on it. Started out with a Misfire in cylinder 1 no other cylinder, service department told us it was faulty Gas, drained tank, put in different gas code came back same cylinder. Drained tank again cleared code and appeared to be good. Went on vacation and left the car at home, came back and first trip out shuttering and code returned. It is currently in the shop now, they replaced ignition coil for cylinder one and it threw a code for misfire on cylinder 3, replaced 3, threw code for 2 and 5, replaced those threw code for 4 and 6. Replaced those and original code for cylinder one returned. They currently have the car and have no clue what is causing the misfire. The have had the car for 2 weeks now. Current story is that they are waiting on engineering to tell them what to do next.

They still have our vehicle with no clue as to what is going on, has anyone else been able to get this issue resolved?

Having so many issues on a engine in a brand new car would be a sign to start looking at alternatives, Genesis GV 80, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Highlander and also take advantage of Carvana's offers

Same issue .... Picked up our new 2022 drove 200 km, engine light and revving really high between 3000- 4000 rpm. Brought it back to the dealer. Stated condensation in the transmission wires. Drove another 200 km same thing brought it back. Kia Canada is saying to replace a transmission valve. Haven't received the vehicle back yet. Will keep you updated.

I am having this same issue! Did they resolve it for you? I am taking it in this week for further diagnostics. Of course, it resets before I get to the dealer and then we cannot re-create it. Any information would be appreciated.
Just happened to me this morning

The engine malfunction light came on while I was driving home on Thursday. Called my dealership and soonest they can see me is two weeks. Drove it yesterday and the light was still on. Drove it this morning and the light was off. Going to keep my appointment just in case it comes back on.

I was reading through the thread and I saw some say they were getting a code on the app. Do you need a subscription to get that? Thanks in advance.

I finally got a service appointment.before that , the warning light and rough running went away. Dealer could find nothing wrong but made a note of it in my file

Yes, a subscription is needed for the app. I had it for a while but canceled it because I felt that it was a total rip-off. As far as receiving the codes on the app, I never did and I had the highest level possible. Clearly you may, or may not, get notified on the app.

The light still hasn’t same back on. I’m wondering if I should cancel my appointment or still take it in for them to look at it.

The computer will save the codes in it's memory. Just because the light isn't on doesn't mean that they can't figure out why it came on. Don't let them tell you otherwise. If it were me, I'd go because, the light would probably come back on the next day.

Just got back from the dealership. They couldn’t find any codes and the light hasn’t come back on.
