EX with amber headlamp surrounds

I thought the amber headlamp surrounds only ever denoted the SX model, but I’ve seen EX models with it — have they each custom converted their headlamps (despite the wiring harness being different), or were amber headlamp surrounds used for the EX model for some year(s)? Thx for the details!

For Tellurides sold in North America, the color of the DRL is tied to the type of headlights as equipped from the factory.
Halogen headlights = white LED DRL.
LED headlights = amber LED DRL.
It’s that simple.

But for a more detailed trim by trim analysis:

Canada
2020-2022
ALL trims = amber DRL

USA
2020-2022
LX = white DRL

2020-2022
S = white DRL

2020-2022
EX = white DRL
2020
EX Premium = white DRL
2021-2022
EX Premium = amber DRL

2020-2022
SX (all) = amber DRL

If you purchased an EX trim without the Premium package or lower trims, it is possible to swap out the halogen assemblies for the LED assemblies. But you will require help from @machtig or somebody knowledgeable who can either provide you with a plug and play conversion harness and voltage regulator, or at least give you the pin out information so you can wire it yourself or with a professional.
