Factory Orders Canceled?

I had a dealer place a factory order on Nov. 6. Was just informed that order will not be filled and, as such, no purchase.
Curious to know if anyone has had similar experiences and/or has insights on just what is going on with the vehicle.

My specs were for an SX Prestige package - Dark Moss / Dune Brown interior.

I'm a little worried about this too. I placed an order on 10/25 and had an ETA OF 2/23. I text my salesman to get an update and was told there is no longer an ETA. He said it shows an internal order number but no VIN or ETA. Is it common for that to happen or is this something I should be concerned about? It's a FWD S with nothing special added so not as high demand as the others.

finally did get a verbal progress report to be finished and inspected early March. Dealer has guaranteed the price stays as quoted when delivered mid march.

Yeah, I've been keeping a pretty close eye on it since before I ordered and they haven't been as plentiful as I would like. More AWD than FWD. I almost had a Gravity Gray back in September but it apparently sold as we were just leaving the house to go to the dealership. They do have a Moss S available shortly but I'm pretty set on the Everlasting Silver or secondary Gravity Gray.

What color combo ? FWD S shouldn’t take that long. We have one coming in within the next two weeks. We might be able to figure something out

I got mine in March so almost a year ago. Ex awd -$40,500 msrp lease with 15k miles For $700 down , $499 a month after tax. Taxes are high here. Most should be able to get it for $400 + tax a month for ex Awd

Thanks! I'll take a look and talk to me wife. I don't know if it's going to work out though. We've got three younger kids still so I don't know if the gray interior is going to be the best option instead of black.

Is it possible an ordered unit was sent to the wrong dealer? I found a VIN for a dealer in Kansas City (I'm in St. Louis) that is exactly the same and was made on 1/13. The only thing that would make me question it is that there was nothing additional added which is how I ordered it. No carpeted floor mats, cargo net, etc. Just from my anecdotal experience looking at inventory over the past few months it seems like there is almost always something added. Maybe I'm just looking into it too much.

No, a dealer has to put the order into KFOS. Likely an exact same vehicle as your spec was ordered at the other dealer. Honestly, I'd watch the spreadsheet and site for current info and then call when you see one you want. An S model is less likely to be pre-sold. Then, you can give up on your order. They tend to produce color batches by day, so just keep watching.

I had the same issue, car came in when orig date was spec, same options, id as the car I ordered, they said the guy ordered it 5 days before I did, I know the real deal, dealer said it was not my car. my guess is someone offered over invoice.

Dealers have tons of orders with multiple variations. I wouldn't focus too heavy on one vehicle that you see.

I had the same issue, car came in when orig date was spec, same options, id as the car I ordered, they said the guy ordered it 5 days before I did, I know the real deal, dealer said it was not my car. my guess is someone offered over invoice.

Ask them for the Order ID from Kia. It will start with MN007 (dealer code) then the order date as 6 digits. If the date isn't correct, then something is wrong. Also, if you ordered in July, then unless you ordered on July 30th, it wouldn't have been possible to order 5 days before you... SXP orders weren't opened until July 25 or so.
