Good options?
The short answer is:
Anything but
Tuxmats
You don't drive a fugly Outback, so why chose fugly floor protection?
Don't freak out, these are just my personal options, mild critiques and current rankings of some of the better players in the game.
You and your Telly will be fine with any of these quality options:
#1: OEM All-Weather
Floor Mats <--- the most comfortable material for heels and soles of feet, perfect thickness, perfectly measured fit, perfect attachment, perfect aesthetics, "TELLURIDE" stamped into the material / made in South Korea
#2:
WeatherTech FloorLiners HP <--- 2nd/3rd row coverage handles the center hump, center aisle section that the OEMs don't cover / 2nd most comfortable material after the OEMs / good design / made in the USA
#3: Tie:
WeatherTech FloorLiners and Husky Liners <--- solid performers. I'm not a fan of the higher edge lip for the front row liners (driver side/passenger side) or the bright advertising logos even as a fan of WT and Husky / made in the USA
#4:
Smart Liners <--- finally saw the new ones and they're pretty good, not much drop off from the previous domestic production and everyone here seems happy with the ones cut and measured for Telly. So far so good, right,
@superk1977?
#5: ToughPro <--- unique closed-cell design that traps slush and snow and mud and fluids without long channels that allow fluid to run directionally like other designs / cut from sheets of material that resemble a harder polymer than rubber materials that are more comfortable / one of the better lower price options / no outer lip that catches any drips around the edge which isn't a problem because the closed cells catch over 95% of anything, but in case you rest your boots at the edge, some slush/water can get around the edges / made in the USA
Good luck y'all !!
A QUICK RECOMMENDATION ON CARGO MATS:
* if you want cargo mat recommendations, I only have two products, the OEM Carpeted Cargo Mat with Seat Back Protection (60/40 split) and the ToughPro cargo area liner.
The OEM mat is perfectly measured and cut to protect the back area edge to edge and attaches securely with velcro already installed on the bottom of the mat. The bottom layer is fully rubberized so nothing is getting through. The mat is thin enough to put additional protection on top should you elect to do that.
The ToughPro cargo liner is awesome because of the closed cell design. It's more plasticky polymer feel than rubbery so it doesn't quite bend and flex like a rubberized mat. I also had to grind and sand down the side edges just a tad bit to make it fit more flat, more flush on top of the OEM Carpeted Cargo Mat, but this thing will handle some dirty jobs and it's currently not in the Telly but rolled up in a garage in NorCal for later use.
MAYBE GIVE THE NEW-IMPROVED
TUXMAT TEXTURES A CHANCE?
* even though I rip on Subarus and particularly clueless Outback drivers and the fugly
Tuxmats, we need to give
Tuxmats some credit for listening to harsh, brutal, savage feedback from blunt, direct, merciless people like me and updating their mats. Supposedly the dumb pinning idea is gone and supposedly
Tuxmat has updated that godawful basketball skin texture to something much better. New
Tuxmat owners, please describe the finally improved
Tuxmat design because I don't have a set of their new products to describe and critique
