Front hood lettering

Is it just me, or does the front of the hood look out-of-place bare without T E L L U R I D E lettering as was mostly loved on Tellurides 2019-2022?

I see your in VA. I've got a lot of ties in the area. One daughter lives in Old Town, Alexandria, son went to U of M in college park, daughter just finished grad school at UVA and moving to Richmond in August. AKA I'm in that state all the time.

Anyhow - this forum is kind of dead. I got 10x the number of replies on FB no less.
So had a lot of fun there, looking at pictures and all, and after input from my wife, I am no longer on the fence.
Plus - the pic below sold me.

BUT BUT BUT ......... no one will know what you are driving?
( Nice job though - my Sorento, bought used, was de-lettered also, and it looked ok - good enough that I didn't want to take the effort to put the letters back on. Only difference is that I wasn't proud to be driving a Sorento - I am proud of the Telly)

Nightfall Black Lettering Emblems for your 2020-2022 Telluride

These TELLURIDE letters come pre-installed with automotive grade 3M double sided tape applied to the rear. A foam “template” is included to help align the letters on the front and/or rear of your Telluride. They can be had as a single set, or for both the front and rear of your SUV.

Two issues I had with installing. 1) having the right light to properly line up the bottom of the foam stencil with the bottom of the hood. I did it in my garage in the afternoon with bright sun shining and it kind of blinded me, 2) some (not all) of the black letters were a little bit insecure in the foam stencil, so I had to fiddle with them to keep them in place until pressed down hard on the hood. The problem here is the stencil - which comes in two halves - is quite long (wide) and a bit unwieldy. BUT this issue was clearly impacted by issue #1.

All in all, it is not that difficult IF you take your time.

Got it, appreciate the additional info. Did you have your hood ceramic coated or anything like that prior to installing the lettering? Any surface prep or anything like that to ensure they adhere? Was trying to decide if I should do the lettering install before or after putting a coating on. I Am worried the lettering may not adhere to the coating well but also not looking forward to trying to cost around the nooks and crannies of the letters either.

GOOD QUESTION -- and one that concerned me some. BUT, I was forced to buy the ceramic coating at the dealer a few weeks before I applied the lettering. So, I have gambled that the lettering will still be permanently attached. Time will tell. I have really have no knowledge on what ceramic coating does in-so-far as adherence.
