• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... FWD vs AWD

Thanks for all the info, should get my Telluride next month, who knew it would be so popular..I ordered the AWD after reading alot of reviews stating the AWD version handled better all around, I live in a 4 season state, but the weather is so unpredictable, I like the option of being better prepared.

"I like the option of being better prepared" (y)
I live in SoCal and I ordered an AWD. I need it once and it pays for itself. I do travel to Utah 1 or 2 times a year. We go to the mountains and we go to the desert to go shooting and I know there are a few times in my Tundra I wish and needed AWD.

I had a few FWD cars and in winter around here with out big hills, sometimes it doesn't quite cut it. i have never had a problem with AWD vehicles here with all season tires. I'm sure the FWD would have been better with some winter tires on it, but I don't like change and will stick with AWD and all seasons.

I'm considering the AWD, but considering that AWD is deactivated above 40MPH, that has me concerned if driving in the rain on freeways. I'm replacing my 2005 Infiniti QX56 FWD and it's a stable in the rain above 60MPH. What has been your experience driving in the rain with FWD above 40MPH?
I’ve used AWD on my KIA Sportage in the snow (very hilly here) on the ice (took a friend to work because his pickup was worthless on the ice). Also drove home from NY to GA in December 2018 in a blinding rainstorm. It rained heavily for hundreds of miles (I’m not kidding) and I was SO GLAD I had AWD! Ordered my new Telluride with AWD for sure! Now I just have to wait...

We live in WI and had jobs that required driving for a greater part of the workday so had purchased several AWD vehicles. We now don't drive "all day" or drive farther north for winter activities since the kids are grown. While looking for our recent purchase we couldn't find a vehicle with AWD in the colors, interior and exterior, we wanted. That started our discussion about whether we could live with or without AWD and decided we'd probably be fine without. We purchased only a week ago so we'll, hopefully, have to wait 6-7 months for ice and snow.
Hello - wondering how your FWD Telluride is handling the WI winters this year. Any feedback would be great! Thanks!
