• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I used my key fob to open my door as I neared the car, as I did the gas door popped open at the same time! I normally just get to the car and press the door handle to unlock the car so I don't know if this occurs at other times. Something to look out for or t check out!

Odd … to my knowledge, the gas filler door is only push-push style actuator for opening and does not have a remote / button option. It does however lock when the vehicle is locked and unlock when the vehicle is unlocked (only way you can open the filler door is if car is unlocked). I suspect that when the filler door unlocks, the push push mechanism is popping the door open. This is either due to the fact that the filler door was not properly closed last time it was opened or there is a failure in the mechanism. If it happens again, I'd bring it into service.

Another possibility would be that somebody knocked into the filler door while the vehicle was locked thus releasing the mechanism which was then only being held by the lock. Once you unlock, that mechanism is released thus opening the door. Easy enough to try and see if this possibility holds water.
