• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Got front side windows tinted.

Interesting, I got mine done at 20%, yesterday, and I thought it was a perfect match. Will check again today and get photos if anyone is interested? (Gravity grey w/ grey interior)

Both of the previous look good regardless!
Yes pics please

I got limo tint on all back windows and full legal on front windows. Here are my pics.

That looks great, getting ready to do mine as well. Do you have any issues seeing out the back glass at night or do you just rely on Backup camera? Also, do you know what brand of film they installed? I am trying to decide between Llumar, SunTek and Madico/Winco Ceramic IR films. Very sharp looking ride, well done!

No idea what they used and I rely on backup camera. Which has pedestrian detection. So not a problem.

I got FULL limo all the way around on my 18 accord and I can’t see shit at night out any window. So my wife wouldn’t let me do it to this one too. But I think it looks sweet and I live in FL so, blocks out sun

I had 1 car with tinted windows and found it so much harder to drive at night..I hated it. I haven't had any tint since. I do think it makes the car look nice though.
Get a lighter tint put on the vehicle so the windows are not so dark. Part of the benefit of tint is heat reduction inside the vehicle and UV protection so your interior does not fade and crack. Sounds like you just had them tinted to dark on your last vehicle. They actually make clear film that will give you the UV protection, but little to no heat reduction. I use it on my windshield.

I have used Llumar films for the last 15+ years and it's been great. Had an issue with one vehicle where the tint flaked off and it was replaced under warranty. Ended up being a defect in that particular line at the time.

I went to a shop that tints windows today and they measured the second row passenger window on my SX with Prestige and the reading was 28% VLT. It is my understanding that manufacturer tints can vary because many of them are just colored glass so be aware an extra drop of dye either way can effect the tint by a percentage or two.

Because of State laws I had to go with 35% VLT on the front windows. I took the attached picture intentionally showing the absolute worst angle other wise you cannot tell the difference between the front row and second row windows.

Looks good. Gives me a preview of what mine will look like. What color interior do you have?

Thank you; I have the grey nappa leather interior. I didn't have a choice to go darker on the tint. But from every other angle it looks good so I am much happier than with the standard glass. For $85.00 it is a reasonable price for a noticeable aesthetic upgrade. In reality it also offers some UV and Solar benefit too so three for one, not bad.

Doing my Moss S Weds... legal front and the balance to match w a higher film since they are already darker... w reduce UV,heat in summer w/o looking much darker from inside.

Yes, but I think it's only illegal in New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Vermont. A number of other states limit the level to 70%.
Late to the party on this thread. Most states are 70%. However factory front driver and passenger side windows are usually at 77% give or take a few percentage points. So you are not gaining much. I do like the tint look though.

In Alabama it's 32% VLT and not more than 20% reflection on driver and front passenger window.
