• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Aloha all!

I picked up the ride last Friday and so far loving it. I traded in a 2014 Acura MDX and don't miss it one bit.

The value and technology in this car is second to none. I also got a great deal too, so it was a no brainer!

I am looking to do some aftermarket wheels at some point. I've always had aftermarket wheels on every ride i've had for the past 20+ years.

Looking forward to hearing and sharing with others on this forum.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. And thanks for the picture! Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! I'd love to get a comparison to the 2014 Acura MDX...

Congratulations, The mdx is one of the cars I am contemplating along with the Telluride so I too would love to hear how you compare it to your old ride.

Is that everlasting silver? with hint of blue? I hope my wife likes this color if we decide to go with telluride. I always wanted MDX because i had 0 problems with my TSX but that new MDX is ugly, and kia is cheaper, comes with better warranty and little more safety tech. I know kia will never beat my dealer experience with Acura but hopefully its cheaper to maintain.

The interior of the Acura needs serious updating. It’s got two screens and buttons everywhere. A mess. But Acura makes a hell of a vehicle. Super reliable. My old 2004 MDX went 235k miles before I traded it in. Probably my favorite car ever.

we just sold our 2014 MDX and bought a Moss Green SX/Prestige. We loved the MDX, but the Telluride offered so much more for so much less, including a HUGE interior compared to the MDX and much more attractive styling in our opinion. Now starts the experience....hoping it lives up to the 5+ years with the Acura!

Congratulations!! Thanks for the picture. Feel free to add others.

Thank you all for the note!

Let me first say that the current gen Acura MDX is still a fantastic car. However, it's now in it's 6th year and hasnt had a meaningful update besides some styling/cosmetic bits. They did add a hybrid sport model 2 years ago but that model begins a whopping $8500 more then the base, which puts it out of my reach. The MDX is really overdue for an overhaul, especially the interior.

Comparing the Telluride to the MDX is easy. They have alot in common, NA V-6's, 3 rows, and alot of tech. They both have a great balance between ride and handling. Acura is known for this, Kia is not. That's where the Telluride surprised me. The Telluride feels alot more nimble then you would think for a large 3 rower. With that said, it's no Miata ( i used to own a NC). Here's my random list of ramblings why I chose the Telluride.

1. 3 usable rows! I wanted the EX for its 8 seats, compared to the MDX's 7.
2. The cargo hatch has a super wide opening. The Telluride at its widest measures 49", while the MDX is only 45". Makes buying a big TV's a daily tease.
3. NA V-6's. I didnt want a turbo 4, looking at you Subaru Ascent and CX-9!
4. The Honda Pilot is wholly competent but its styling inside and out loses out to the Telluride.
5. The Highlander is in its 6th year and doesnt have Android Auto (yet).
6. The VW Atlas looks good inside and out but i dont trust VW engineering. Too many of my VW friends know their service advisers all too well.
7. The Palisade isnt here yet but I also dont like the funky design and lines that is a Hyundai trademark.
8. The new Explorer looks good but it looks too much like the old one.
9. This baby takes regular 87, no more Premium required like the premium brands like Acura make you feed it.
10. The interior of the Telluride really sold me. It looks and feels premium. The design language is simple yet tastefully done. I say WOW every time I get inside.

Kia has a homerun in its fleet. This vehicle will no doubt elevate the brand. The quality surveys have also improved in recent years when I am completely confident it'll be reliable for years. The long warranty doesnt hurt either!

I expect the Telluride and its cousin to sell like there's no tomorrow. Well done Kia, well done.

We got the same color! We LOVE it! Everyone keeps asking us if it’s blue or silver LOL
I’ve gotten nothing but compliments on my Everlasting Silver EX. Most agree its “silver with a hint of blue.”
