• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... So I've had the Borla exhaust for a couple weeks and just my opinion, but I find it to be extremely mild. In fact, 90% of the time I can't really tell ANY difference. I live in socal and we've been dealing with a very bad heat wave recently. I bring that up because I think you folks in cold climates get a little more rumble on a "cold start". I don't really get much of that where I live.

Also as full disclosure, I also have the K&N air intake on my telluride. For those looking for a little more rumble and growl to their telluride, I can say with absolute confidence that the intake is much louder than the Borla exhaust. I was very surprised by the intake sound. (I like it. My wife hates it). By comparison the Borla is very underwhelming.

That said, I don't regret at all getting the two because I seem to be getting 1.5 to 2 MPG better on average than I was before the upgrades. May not seem like much but since the car is not exactly a Prius when it comes to MPG, Im happy with the improvement. Also in sport mode, the car does feel peppier and more responsive and feels like it pulls harder. All good things.

+1 on the above. I have both and can say for certain that is an accurate review on both items being added to my Telluride. I also knew going in that I wasn't looking for a rumble just slight change with the exhaust.

I will say the pedal commander has blown my mind in how much for fun the vehicle is to drive.

If you don’t mind me asking where in SoCal are you located? Would love to see if by any chance I could see and hear your car in person. 👍

I don't mind at all. I'm in Loma Linda if you know where that is. If you're ever in the area I'd be happy to show you. Shoot me a PM.

That would be the first thing I do too to improve engine‘s response. Have it in my Mazda 3 (set at City +1) and got rid of the throttle lag and turned the car to much much more fun to drive. My days of playing around with air intakes or filters are long over but since the Mazda 3 2.5 throtthe lag was so bad that forced me to find a solution, and I’m glad I found the Pedal Command.

You picked a weird angle to show the intake which was a little confusing. Also you threw a badge on there which is different.
Yes he sure did. He wanted to make it unique 🤩. @ernysan how where you able to buy the intake? I see it’s not available for purchase in CA. Any idea how to get my hands on it? Anyone live outside of CA that can purchase and then ship it to me🤔🙏

Another forum member was kind enough to do this for me since as you noted they won't ship to California directly. He would have done it for free (other than the costs of shipping of course) but I paid him extra on top of it for his time since he was being very generous. And to be clear I purchased the intake but shipped to his address which he then forwarded to me.

You got these mixed up. Borla is perfectly fine to buy here in California. In fact it's made in California. It's the KN intake you can't buy and have shipped here to California.

Would installing the KN intake cause issues when it comes time to do the smog?

Don't quote me on this, but i imagine it would not generally pass the visual inspection, but it would still pass the sniffer. So it's really how thorough the tech is.

I painted the intake arm on mine black to make it less obvious that there are/were aftermarket parts. Then i also replaced the chrome allen bolts with black ones.

It's highly unlikely. Unless youre a Kia tech and know what the stock part looks like, the KN filter doesn't really stand out in any way like some intakes do. I purposely didn't put on the giant KN sticker that came with it as I did not want to draw attention that it's not a stock intake box.
