• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... We experienced a pretty ugly hail storm today not 10 minutes after leaving for dinner. My poor Telly is not even 30 days old yet and I now have hail damage. Traffic was at a complete standstill and all I could do is cringe every time it hit my SUV. Already filed a claim and will get in line for the paintless

That’s a complete bummer. Sorry to hear. Hopefully you have gap insurance if you financed in the event it is considered totaled.

Did not do gap because I had about $16K down between incentives, trade and a couple grand out of pocket. I estimate its probably less than $3500 in damage but just totally stinks. First vehicle I have ever had hail damage on.

Hope it won’t be too bad.

You're still alive to tell the story?? I would've jumped off a cliff, crying the whole way down.

That totally sucks having that happen to any car, new or old. I wish you the best of luck getting the new girl looking good again. Keep us posted.

Thanks,
Kevin

Yeah, mine is in PDR now. Should get it back tomorrow. About $5K worth of damage. Compared to others in the area it could have been much worse.

Or you can fix it yourself. :sneaky:

Learned today that our not-yet-arrived Telluride was a casualty of the MAR hailstorm. We are offered a $2K discount and complimentary service for 2 years. KIA will "do what is needed to put the car in new condition". It's a generous offer, but my concern is if windows were broken, what kind of water damage may have resulted. So, we are saying, "Thanks, no thanks and will wait for a fresh one".

Can you see any photos of the vehicle or get a description of the damage before taking or leaving that offer?

What is the waiting period for a "fresh one"? If your back to the end of the line, I would have second thoughts

It will be a "no" for me. I am just not going to buy a damaged vehicle, especially not a new one.

I'm assuming we'll wait another 3-5 months and if we "needed" a new car, we'd likely have decided differently.

So, this will give many peace of mind. Hail was minor and did not go through windows, windshields... etc... Is simple PDR work and if needed parts were replaced. They get inspected 3 times before rolling out.

Thanks, Stephen! What’s the source of those pics? Does KIA send them for affected vehicles at your dealership?

Those were examples of damage from the factory to the dealers from Kia.
