If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I hadn’t test driven telluride yet. But test drove palisade and found to be pretty good with sharp steering around corners with minimal body roll. Of course I don’t compare these vehicles with Germans but found to be very secure during curves. How does Telluride compare with Palisade in this case?

The two cars have different suspension makes. Not sure how they compare but I find the Kia adequate at best. It's sacrifices comfort for handling which in this vehicle isn't all together bad for the occupants. Every vehicle that I liked how it handled, my passengers hated it. :(

I've had my SX Telly for a few weeks. I'm an aggressive driver. I've pushed hard on some winding roads in Sport and Comfort. Did quite well for its size
Looks beautiful!

From my research they both have a brake based cornering assist feature just called something different but it might be identical.
All Tellurides come with Torque Vectoring Corner Control (TVCC) while all Pallidades advertise Traction Control System (TSC) with Brake Assist (BA).

@PittPa I’m curious if you have any information on the suspension differences. I was under the impression that the Telluride had the same suspension parts as the Hyundai and both had Mando shocks all around including the self leveling Mandos.

Both vehicles drive exceptionally well but overall handling and responsiveness felt better with the Tellurides (closer to the German brands). Personal styling preference was also a huge deciding factor. Here is a picture I took for a side by side compare.

Foward to 13:00 mark - showing that the Palisade uses German supplied Sachs shocks (unless opting for the auto-leveling system, where get Sachs shocks only at the front) whereas the Telluride uses Korean supplied Mando shocks which impact ride and handling.

Thanks for sharing. So the standard shocks on the Palisade are ZF Sachs with fancier stuff on the front, but if you add self leveling you keep the ZF Sachs on the front but get Mando Self Leveling in the back. Whereas Telluride standards are Mandos all around and self leveling option are Mando “upgrade.”

Given that ZF Sach makes Nivomats, and Nivomats are the main self leveling shocks available, is it possible that Mando is just licensing Nivomats which is why they are interchangeable on the Palisade? It’s the same mono tube style of mechanical raising doing the same exact thing and they even look identical.

I came from a 2014 BMW X5 (x35i M-Sport), and I can tell you the 2022 Telluride SX I have comes nowhere near the handling nor acceleration of the X5. The Telluride has significantly more body roll and understeer than the X5. That being said, the Telluride is overall a much more comfortable ride.

Online reviews say the Telluride is more softly sprung than the Palisade resulting in a slightly more comfortable ride and slightly less sharp handling.

Coming from a QX60, our SX rides just as well and handles a thousand times better.

Here’s a comparison of the published specs:

Telluride description of Front suspension: Independent, MacPherson struts, coil springs, stabilizer bar
Palisade description of Front suspension: MacPherson strut with coil springs and stabilizer bar

Telluride description of Rear suspension: Independent, Multi-link, stabilizer bar
Palisade description of Rear suspension: Multi-link Independent, separated spring & shocks with stabilizer bar

(Telluride ref. / Palisade ref.)

The Telluride does have separated spring and shock on the rear, so essentially its the same design.

Both offer the same optional rear self leveling mechanical monotube shocks.

Although advertised measurements are in mm vs inches, the front and rear brakes for both are the same.

The OEM tires options on the Telluride are different than the Palisade which could contribute to a difference in handling and ride comfort for an individual driver or passenger.

I do know that the ground clearance is a little higher on the Telluride over the Palisade so that include impact handling differently.

Also the Palisade has 6 core options (3 trims and FWD or AWD for each), while the Telluride has more options depending on choice of 4 trims, seating, and FWD/AWD which creates a larger range of curb weight on the Telluride that could result in a different experience between options especially since the front and rear gross axle weight may vary slightly.

The Telluride's boxier design, varying weight and slightly higher stance could change the center of gravity when comparing the two in handling, roll and under/oversteer, even with the same unibody design underneath.

I would caution against online reviews describing comfort for any vehicle especially from a person doing a review of different types of vehicles in different classes. It is such a subjective thing the only real test is to try it for yourself and take a test drive with as close to the same spec vehicle you are considering to make a purchase. As more manufacturers move to online custom ordering, I think they can’t get away from the need to have something in a showroom to test drive.

I haven't driven a palisade so I can't comment on that, however, I have the storm lowering springs installed on my telluride and can tell you it feels a lot more confident while cornering with noticeably less body roll.

looks like the Telly had 20in wheels and the pal had 18in. That would make the difference. Both vehicles are pretty much the same just different styling. I would bet the suspension is the same.

Update: I rented a telluride base model with Turo app. Loved the way it drives! Both pally and Telly has nice engine sound and very punchy acceleration. With family of 6 I was easily able to drive 85mph without any fear and was blazing all the slopes of downtown San Francisco. I feel that Pally has a very quick steering and has a very slight edge in handling. Telluride has 4 stars in safety ratings and not a top iihs pick plus. But I love telluride German aesthetic better than pally.

I love how the Telly handles corners. Coming from an older Sorento… it’s night and day. Sorento felt pretty sketch on some corners. Telly is perfectly fine on just about anything so far.

Which Trims you are comparing? Is Pally handles better than Telly. I am thinking about looknig for AWD Pally.

I have driven both pally SEL, Limited and Telly S trim. I see that Pally has a smaller steering and very sharp steering in general. Telly IMO had some body roll.

Thank for the update. I have checked our Edmunds. They liked Telly handing over Pally. We don't have option to test drive Pally here.
