Heads up display install

Hi everyone, has anyone tried installing a heads up display in a non prestige model? I have seen some available on eBay etc. Wondering if it is possible to have one installed and will wiring be compatible with non prestige models. Also are there any other good after market alternatives?

There are apps which you can use on your smartphone and then put your phone on the dash to look at the reflection. And that's about as far as I would go.
