Heated and cooling seats

Every time I start my Telluride when I am seated in the vehicle the driver’s seat will automatically come on in the cooling mode. I’ll shut it off and shut down the vehicle and restart and it will come back on. Does anyone know if this is the way the seats function? Will it automatically start in the heat mode when it gets colder out? And why just the driver’s seat , my wife can be sitting in the passenger seat and it doesn’t come on automatically.
2021 EX model with premium package . Have had it for 1 week.

There's a setting that will automatically turn on heated/cooled seats depending on your location's temperature. You can turn it off.

The manual states that seat heat or cooling is always off when you start the vehicle.

Can you tell me how to get to the settings or should I do some more investigating. Stopped by the dealership and got no help.

Not sure on that, maybe with UVO it can be programmed...

Nac my manual says the samething. Thought that maybe it was something to do with the climate control in the Kia portal but I do not see any settings for the seat. Just temperture settings for heat or cooling, heated steering wheel,and heated mirrors. And I just figured that would be remote settings while away from the vehicle not while starting from the inside.

I believe it is found in the Setup area of the infotainment screen (radio). Hit Setup and look for Seats, IIRC.

Sadly, there is a TON more info to be had on these forums than at most dealerships. Glad you found your answer though.

It’s only a feature available in AWD SX trims.

I have AWD EX Trim and it works.
Maybe its a 2021 thing, I’m not sure but it help me.

when I bought my Telluride AND my Honda Goldwing I was infinitely more knowledgeable than the dealers were ..... those dealers are out to sell stuff, and really don’t now “squat” about what their selling.... just my personal experience.....

be an informed buyer, NEVER depend on what the “dealer” tells you.....

Agreed.

People that are good at selling typically are not detail oriented. Just goes with the territory. That said, it’s not an excuse for not knowing your product. It’s just laziness in most cases.
