  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just got word that our order was finally picked up by Kia after over 5 months of anxious waiting. Now we just wait for the build!

This seems like the place to be for info on the rig - looking forward to learning from you all and contributing too.

I put a bunch of this info in my signature as I've seen others do - why wasn't it included?

Here's what we ordered:
2021 KIA Telluride SX P/N/T AWD Glacier White Pearl/Gray
Ordered: 11/2/20
Order Picked Up by Kia: 3/15/21
Delivery Date: TBD

We're replacing a 2003 Honda Odyssey. It's actually fine if boring, but we ordered a small travel trailer and we didn't feel comfortable with the old Odyssey towing it.

@Armando S:

Great!

It'll move so much quicker now.

Did Kia post your VIN so that you can see your sticker and the itemized list of your exact build + any accessories or factory-installed options, if any, got into your order?

I wanted a whole list of OEM accessories but only got the OEM Carpeted Floor Mats (which I didn't really want, but I wanted something on the floor to put my dirty feet on while I waited for my OEM All Weather Floor Mats to arrive).

Let us know if everything you requested on the order form got into your actual KFOS order! :)

All the best!

Our requirements were:
- seats 7 adults
- can tow up to 5000 lbs
- good safety features
- good driving feel
- good reliability
- good value for the money
- some style

We eliminated Honda Pilot (steering too light) and Toyota Highlander (3rd row too cramped).

We really liked the Volvo XC90 Recharge, but it got knocked off the list due to price (about $80k), reliability (mediocre), and style (beautiful inside, but outside - meh). That thing drives beautifully though, obviously is very safe, and can go about 18 miles on electric only, which is super cool for errands around town. That's the main compromise for me on the Telluride - traditional V6 with no hybrid option.

Speaking of the Volvo, its beautiful white interior inspired us to get the Gray (it looks mostly white to me) interior for the Telly. Our kids are grown, so it will just be us spilling things on the seats. :) The risk is worth it to us for that light, clean look.

We only got the same carpeted factory floor mats. I was actually going to leave them off and get my own, but my salesperson said that they've had "trouble" with orders that didn't include them. I don't know what that was all about, but they aren't bad to have so I went with it.

I don't have any other accessories picked out yet. I will need a brake controller for the trailer, but I'd rather not mount one in the new truck, so I need to do some research on the on-trailer/wireless units.

Also, the proximity lock/unlock unit I saw in another post looks amazing.

I don't have a VIN from the dealer. Failcat was fun to explore, but mine doesn't seem to be listed there yet. I'm not sure how that site gets updated.

I want to say something great about the Light Gray (almost white) interior:

I saw more than a few reviews that featured the Light Gray Nappa instead of the amazing Dune Brown Nappa:

Design-wise, the Light Gray will be on the plastic glove box and wrap around the cabin more than the Dune Brown, which contrasts against black plastic.

Yours will look amazing with the basically white color wrapping around your cabin creating another horizontal "line" that optically creates more width and space and makes everything feel longer, wider, more spacious in the interior.

The Nappa seats are easy to maintain too.

An occasional wipe down with a damp cloth is all they really need.

The one thing is that your headliner is light light-colored, basically a paint canvas and the Premium Cloth Microfiber material is so soft everyone will want to run the backs of their hands on it to de-stress. It's like petting a puppy.

Hopefully none of those hands will be coated with chocolate or blood or whatever stained my former Lexus' headliner: I'm looking at my niece and nephew, specifically :)

chocolate or blood
That seems like an important difference to me. :)

I like your design thoughts. We've never actually sat inside this specific interior, but we were able to stick our heads into an already-sold Telly at the dealership, and it looked beautiful.

18 miles on electric only…..how is this a selling point?

It's a plug in hybrid. Those 18 miles might be all you need for short errands some days, using no gas, with zero emissions and cheap recharging. Then the full gas engine kicks in, with more power and no range anxiety. It's a selling point for me.

Just got an ETA from my dealer - 5/10/21. So just under 2 months from pickup to ETA. I'm happy to hear it - they told me to expect 3 months.

Now I'm eagerly awaiting the VIN and window sticker link. I can't find it on failcat yet.

Alright! Did get this at MSRP? I have read alot of folks up in the great Northwest were having difficulty.

I agreed to 2k over MSRP at a dealership with a good reputation (Lee Johnson). Other dealers in the Seattle area were asking 6k over MSRP, and they felt sketchy when we visited.

I also checked the Costco buying program for the Telly - no dice on a car this popular.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a window sticker! I know it's just data, but it's reassuring to see our Telly in the system.

How reliable are ETAs? We were first told 5/10, now 5/8, so a small improvement. Can we expect that date to be met by Kia, or should we expect it to slip back over time.

I got mine from Lee johnson. Paid the 2k over msrp. 8 weeks from order to ETA, and it came in within a few days of the ETA. Good experience overall with a Highlander trade-in. WG SXPNF.

Look at my timeline. ETAs can move up sometimes :)

That's reassuring, thanks! It's our only experience with Lee Johnson.

If WG means White/Gray, our rigs are almost twins. I've seen a White Telly driving around the eastside, maybe that's you.

WG is Wolf Gray
