Hi Everyone!
Long time lurker, so thank you all for your contributions, which spurred me to buy a Telluride SX in Black Copper. I LOVE the car, it has been lovely to drive in all regards. I've put about 500 miles on the car and the only issue I have noticed thus far is the following:
This morning I tried to start my car to go into work, the key unlocked the doors like normal, but then when I got in the car and tried to turn it on the Immobilizer Light came on the dashboard and the engine wouldn't turn on. I went into the house, got the other key and had the exact same issue. I tried troubleshooting it but had to leave for work so I called the dealership then roadside support and arranged for the car to be towed. When the tow truck arrived they were able to get the car started with the key like normal. So as it stands the dealership said if everything seems fine then I should be all right and to not bother bringing the car in for service, which makes sense if they aren't going to be able to replicate the problem.
However I just am a bit apprehensive. Luckily my car was in the driveway and I could use a different vehicle. However if I am on vacation or somewhere less convenient I do not want this issue just happening at random? Has anyone experienced anything similar, and if so is there any advice you have? Or just any general thoughts on the matter and if I should push to get the keys reprogrammed or get the car's sensor looked at?
Thanks!
