• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Today we went out for our weekly get-the-heck-out-of-the-house coronavirus drive around town.

When we got downtown I pulled up to a stoplight. Diagonally, across the street, a guy and girl were waiting to cross. When he saw my Telly he shook the girl, pointed at us and began talking to her like a madman.

They proceeded to just STARE, even as they crossed the street and walked past us.

When the light changed I slowly drove away. My wife looked back and the couple were walking forward with their heads fully turned backwards - still checking out the Telly.

Now, my Telly IS gorgeous and I've had many people look, but geez! <:)

Maybe they saw the booger in your nose ..................................bawaaaaaa !

Had a guy drive past in a parking lot as I was getting in..backed up, and started asking questions about it. Ive owned 10+ cars in my 50 yrs, and have never had that happen before. Really awkward, lol.

We had that happen during a Canadian trip - right after I purchased it. Guy and his wife walked up in a parking lot and just peppered me with questions. Wanted to see EVERYTHING - inside and out. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry and they were nice folks.

On my drive home from #teammuncie, I was spending the night in New Mexico. As I was walking to the car to get something out of it, I see a big, burly trucker ( his semi was parked about 50 feet away) walking towards me. Turns out his wife didn't like her Range Rover and had heard about the Telly but had never seen it up close. Gave him a tour of the 2 day old vehicle and he was going to send his wife out to find one to look at.

I’ve gotta admit I wasn’t expecting this kind of attention. From my neighbors to random people in parking lots and at gas stations I’ve been asked about the car and how I like it.

Yup....tis the way it is! Those of us who have one are very lucky.....some of us are still waiting and will be waiting, others out there have read about the all the awards and would just like to see one.....I have experienced folks in parking lots who come up and say , "is that the new Kia SUV?" and I have taken the time to talk to them and even open the doors and them take a look because it is simply the best I have ever owned! Of course under the current virus crisis , not much more of that going on!

There is a guy who drives a nice X5 in my neighborhood who spotted my wifes Telly SX in the driveway as he walked by. He had a bunch of questions for me and really "respected" the ride.

I had some of that when I got the Stinger, asking if it was a Maserati or Jag. But not as much attention as the telluride gets. Have had more people ask about it and the Stinger is my daily. So far I've only heard Range Rover comparisons.

Last summer I drove to Costco in our new Telluride. Coming back out after shopping I look over in the lot and see a guy moving around in the drive aisle in front of our ride with his cell phone taking pictures at various angles. He was done and gone by the time I got back to the car.

Yes the good ol' "is that the Telluride?" Glare & gawk. Its my wife's telly and she is not accustomed to all her new found attention on the road. I myself have always been accustomed to new car success. My pops bought a brand new '82 trans am and everybody would ask him about the "Knight Rider" car. Once I was able to fend for myself, my first 3 vehicles were NEWLY released 1995 Dodge Avenger (CHARGOLD), 98 300ZX , 03 350 Z, 05 Colorado, so i have no issue with new vehicle fandem from strangers. My wife, on the other hand, is not accustomed to this new found recognition provided by this great piece of modern machinery. Now if i could only find that trailer trash literally that failed to tie-down their crap on the highway resulting in a metal desk scuffing up the front bumper cover. My wife failed to get plates from the trailer and pulled over to assess the damage. O well, so much for NEW.

I have had a few people stop and question me, but not as many as when my wife bought her 2013 Ford Fusion. First year vehicles that are either brand new or vastly different than previous vehicles seem to get 5he most questions asked about and looked on. Nothing new and I am sure will happen again. Enjoy your Telluride

Where did you get your Xenon replacement headlights? Difficult to install?

I’ve read all the hype and I’m off to test drive the SX tomorrow . Hopefully I can agree on a price if the Telluride is half as good as I’ve read. if I do buy it, It will interesting to see if I get as many thumbs up as I’ve received with my 89 toyota Landcruiser
which I bought new and still drive.
She’s never been off road, my buddies call it a “mall approach vehicle “.
Cheers,

You'll like it. I have an SXP and it's an awesome vehicle for the price. They could have done some more soft feel plastics around the doors and such, but for the $ there isn't anything that will touch it.

People come up and stare at it all the time. At gas stations I get questions, not as many as when I used to have my 78 Silver Anny Paint Corvette... but still a good number.
