April 2021 I began the process. In town all 5 dealers wanted many thousands above MSRP. Did a KIA search on maps and began calling those closest to Houston. Ft Bend Kia about 50 miles out. They said we sell at MSRP with $500 down. I visited. Sure enough.
There seem to be two ways dealers sell. You are put in a dealer line and when you come up they call with whatever model or color comes in. You give a yes or no, usually taking one that is not what you want.
Or. Go to Kia Build and forward it to the Dealer who sends it to Atlanta. Got 2022 SX prestige $48k on my birthday no less. 6 months. Exactly what I wanted.
Had it a year, only 7k miles. Decided to stop at Carmax just to see. Was offered $56k. They had not one, NOT ONE, midsize SUV on any lot within 500 miles. With their profit that would be about a ten grand premium for anyone who wants one today.
