• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... How come COVID-19 has ZERO effect on the Tellmeride?

It's here to stay thanks to the slow response and will be around for years to come until a vaccine can be introduced.

Like the normal flu vaccine? Unfortunately - viruses evolve and mutate. We have a seasonal flu vaccine and people still get it by the hundreds of thousands and people still die by the tens of thousands...yet life goes on. There will be no total elimination of the COVID-19 virus. What we need to do is focus on the true mortality of it (very very low especially when you remove the cases that had other underlying issues) and find out how to best keep the economy and normal life moving forward. Life must go on...and thankfully in many states it is starting to. That said - as testing becomes more widespread - expect "confirmed" cases to keep rising while the mortality rate falls. I suspect lots more people have had it that we currently know. Thankfully - most people that get it survive.

It is believed (granted it is probably too soon to be sure of anything) that this virus is a much slower mutating virus, in line with measles, chickenpox, etc that all require 1-2 booster shots. Compared to the flu, which is a rapidly evolving virus, which is why there are so many strains, which is the reason epidemiologists look to Australia during their winter to try and ‘guess’ what flu strain will be prominent when our winter hits. If COVID-19 is found to be a slow evolving virus, this would be huge, something to keep an eye on. If not, then yes, we’ll be looking at a new seasonal flu to worry about.

It may be time to move this thread to the COVID part of the forum?

Sal:

I’ve just read a post by site founder (edit: Westcoasttelly is not the “site founder”) Westcoasttelly of shocking idiocy. I’ll not bother to debunk it all, for I’ve no interest in lowering myself to that level of infantile thinking. Instead, and regrettably, I must simply say there are no circumstances where my voice will ever knowingly contribute to any endeavor supported by that kind of blatant disregard for man-kind. Further, that you tolerate that kind of behavior, much less associate with it, is not only appalling, it’s indicative of a moral and ethical absence in the founding group.

Please remove my account and all associated information from your records at your first opportunity.

I wish more people can get the Telluride.........I'm still waiting and it seems I am more likely to get COVID first. 🤣

We have 218 founding members. Founding members are people who were here from the very beginning and contributed to making this the best place to discuss the Kia Telluride. I’m sorry to see you need to close your account because you disagree with another member’s opinion. I wish you all the best.

Clearly the Telluride is such a great vehicle that some members have gotten bored of discussing it and turned to trying to goad others into highjacking the forum for their own purposes. Let’s just stick to car talk, please?

I’ve seen people in other automobile communities uncomfortable with off-topic discussions posted in the “lounge” or “general discussion” forums. Some people don’t want any discussion regarding anything but the vehicle the community is about.

But people like to talk about other things as well. And we allow that. As long as it’s done in the specified areas for off topic discussion. I’ve seen administrators disallow anything but the subject matter that the community was created for - and it didn’t end well. I started my first “online community” in 1985. Please avoid subject matter you don’t want to read.

No effect, because all 90% of Tellurides were already reserved before COVID hit, and the majority of people buying are those with jobs that were thankfully not furloughed due to the pandemic. There are a few on this forum who sadly had to cancel their orders because of COVID, but with how in demand the car is, and the low availability. I don't know the exact number but I thought I read somewhere it was less than 60,000 produced for US market for 2020. 2021 production is being ramped up to 100,000.

I luckily only know a few people who were furloughed or laid off during this pandemic. One who was laid off worked for a company that supplies uniforms and schools in the Dallas area, others were hospitality employees. Thankfully my brother in law (GM of a D&B) and good friend (GM of a hotel) were not affected, I know they had to furlough 90% of their staff though, sadly.

To anyone who thinks its a fake pandemic, I'm glad every country in the world decided to collude together to make a fake pandemic. It's real, it's deadly, and if we would have just shut down hardcore for two weeks, and scary part, shut our borders down completely until the world has it under control, it would be under control. It's here to stay thanks to the slow response and will be around for years to come until a vaccine can be introduced.
