  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi Kia people-
New to the site and super excited about the SX prestige moss/dune with tow on order. But instead of being early May it’s looking like July!!
Not sure if I’ll ever really pull a camper because 5k lbs tow capacity goes quickly for a hard side. Not looking for pop ups. Realistically may be 2 years before I’m hauling anyway.
my question: does anyone really tow a camper with telluride? And the roof can’t take a camper on top with ~300lb dynamic weight.
I could 1) take another color and get one with tow in May or 2) get my color combo without tow (hitch can be added later but not sway control). 3) wait until July but I’m buying out of state and it’s a two day drive
My head is spinning. Open to thoughts and advice. TIA

Welcome to the forum. Not sure where you're from...but did you see this post?

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Telluride! What will the Telluride be replacing for you? I'm glad you found us. :)

Thank you. I have a VW Atlas. Total lemon. Should never have bought a first yr model but it’s had the head gaskets replaced 2 separate times and still blows oil. Selling it back to dealer and was hoping to do a clean exchange but looks like I have to wait much longer.

You're talking to a whole bunch of people who have all experienced similar waits (and sometimes much longer). Many of us ordered at the beginning of the pandemic, when things were completely shut down and delivery times were a complete crapshoot. I think the consensus on here is that it's worth it. My advice would be to slow down and think long term. You're probably have this vehicle for awhile ... most of us who ordered decided that getting what we really wanted was important enough that some short-term uncertainty and delay was something we could live with. Of course, only you can really answer that question for yourself. Good luck!

I did. I called him his morning and it was already sold.

Thank you. We can make it work but it’s my only car so trying to schedule everything. I just wonder if I’ll ever really tow with it.

One thing to consider is how long you plan to own it. These days, it's easily possible for that to be 10 years. That's a long time for uncertainties and really hard to predict. You almost never regret getting what you really want. But whatever you decide, good luck!

I switched out my order for same color combo without tow. Back to May. I’m giving up the anti sway but I won’t be pulling much anyway...if at all. Will save real towing for a future stronger vehicle.
