• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Incoming Map Update: 16.5 Arriving October 24

My detour into Memphis was just one of the many wrong directions provided by the Nav system and the voice recog was also as bad as my Dodge. I had to type in my destination most of the time. I speak perfect English without any accent. I find that many of the options that are available in newer cars are useless and just raise the price of the car. Do I really need a seat massager ? No. If my back is getting sore from too much driving, it's time to pull over and take a break. The safety stuff that comes standard in a Kia Telluride is very nice. It works better than my safety stuff in my $100+k 2022 Cadillac.

Be careful, there’s a few on here that will write a narrative on why they use the factory nav and will not be swayed.
Only thing I like about the onboard navigation is that it displays on the HUD. I like to turn off the voice prompts when I’m talking with someone. I would love to have the CarPlay directions in the HUD. One of the few things I dislike about the car.

Best thing I like about this update is that album covers are now displayed in SiriusXM. That's pretty cool.

Is there a separate update for Audio and Navigation, or is it all covered by the “October 2022 Navigation Map and Software Update?” They’re listed separately on the “Notifications” tab, but on the Download tab, I just see the Navigation Updater.

There's just the one update you need to run. Note it's for 2020-22 Tellurides only.

I’m trying to do the update in my car. I’m getting the updating screen, but the progress bar seems to have stopped at about a quarter of the way the through. It’s been in the same spot for 30 minutes or so. Is that normal? How long did the update take for others? I don’t remember it taking nearly this long when I did the last update.

You can probably expect about 70 minutes… that’s what I saw coming from the April 2022 version.

Thank you. When you did the update, did you happen to notice if the progress bar stopped for a long time around the quarter mark? Mine seems to have stalled so I don’t know if that’s normal or if the update stopped for some reason.
Overall, I’m probably about an hour in, but the progress bar hasn’t moved in at least 30 minutes.

It stays in certain spots for longer than others. It isn’t continuously moving. Better to not stare at it or it’ll drive you crazy.

For those that think they have to run their cars the entire time.
Still have the ambient lighting feature after the update? Had read on one of these forums some guy said when he updated that his ambient lighting was gone. That’s ONE reason I upgraded from my EX to an SX.

Thanks, it eventually finished. It took about 2 hours. After the progress bar got past the quarter mark, it moved pretty quickly. Thanks for your responses.

Seeing the same message. Didn’t the same thing happen with the last update?

Do i need to do anything to get the update? I haven't driven the car all week. Does it do it automatically when the car is running? I did get an email today (1 year anniversary) that my "package" has been reduced from "Ultimate" to "Lite". Have no clue what they are talking about. I'm guessing some "free" one year perks will no longer be working.

Just found the Kia Package website. Apparently after the one year honeymoon is over, barely anything works with the phone app. No systems updates , lock/unlock, find my vehicle, navigation. Everything is turned off until you pay the ransom. You (I) will have to pay $20 per month if I want the stuff to work. These companies just love to nickel and dime the consumers with monthly fees.

You have to go to update.kia.com and get the navigation updater program. When the update is available (it’s temporarily unavailable at the moment), you use that program to download the update files to your 64 GB USB stick. The process has been discussed extensively in other update threads over the years.

This shouldn’t be surprising. It was known what you were getting as a part of the Kia Connect service, and the fact that the free trial ends after one year is clear as well. You can either choose to let it be if those features aren’t important to you, or subscribe at the level you desire. To get everything the trial offered, it’s $199/yr. That is quite competitive compared to other carmakers.
