INCOMING TELLURIDES

I do have a question and I honestly don’t know the answer. Do these vehicles have any impact on the speed of custom orders from existing customers. It would be pretty crappy if the dealer was ordering this way to make extra money but in the process slowing down custom order customers due to limited allocation.
Honestly, you can't blame a dealer for ordering vehicles for their lot. Whether or not it comes out of the total allocation or is a separate stream, they have to have vehicles available for sale or they will need to shut down. Not everyone is going to wait 8 months to a year for a new car, and they have to cater to folks who walk in and drive out.

Uh. Trying to follow the logic here. If a dealer got 10 cars a month, what does it matter if they sell 5 on the lot, and 5 to custom orders, or all 10 go to custom orders. The only difference in this case is the few bucks made off this package. Remember that few bucks would come at the expense of pissing off the wait list. I wouldn’t be happy if the wait list is intentionally being made longer so they could sell a forced add on. Now if a dealer gets 10 cars a month, and they only have 5 custom orders a month, then by all means do what you have to do with the other 5 cars. I’m just glad I have a local dealer who didn’t play games and treated its customers fairly. Honestly, this was the easiest car purchase I ever made in my life, and I never ordered a car before.

As far as I can see we try to put in orders as fast as we can get allocations but there are more than one verse two one is kfoss Is where I usually will put in the orders for customers. Next is supplemental allocation that we can you try and roll the dice and put an order in possibly kia and pick it up. And System allocation is or if the account is pre built from the manufacture

Your last sentence, you never ordered a car before. Neither have I. Most people walk in, browse, decide, and eventually buy one of the available cars on the lot. My last 3 cars were bought that way, and once I was ready to buy, I was ready to buy. If the dealer had nothing and wanted me to sign up even for a three month wait list, I'd walk and buy somewhere else.

I get that Tellurides are different at this point in time, and waiting is pretty routine - but there are still plenty of people who wouldn't buy one if they couldn't have it in the next week (whether it's lease ending/total loss/dead car or any other reason). Those customers are lost if you don't have a car to sell them. I don't fully know how Kia's allocation system works, but if I understand it correctly, orders are in the front of the list for the dealer. However, a certain number of non-ordered Tellurides are also going to be allocated. I have no issue with that, I think it's a little selfish that since I ordered, they should keep filling orders so I can get it sooner. What about the guy who can't wait for an order? They should have a shot too.

My suggestion is to remember what dealers pull slimey moves. It’s only a matter of time when the pendulum will swing the other way and they will be begging for your money. My dealer treated me fairly and I would absolutely go back to them and their family of dealerships when my trucks lease is up next year.
We just bought a Telluride EX with premium package from Barnes Crossing Kia. We were ordering one and then he also told us one just like it was coming in sooner. So we bought it when it arrived. We had told him that we didn’t want to pay more than List price and he never said a word. Quoted us $45,415 as the price. Higher than what we wanted but we decided to do it. When it came in, I asked 3 times for them to send me a pic of the window sticker. Never did and I thought he was just forgetting. When we got there they had it cleaned up and ready—we are from different state—no sticker on window and we thought it had all the features we were expecting so we completed the purchase. We were NEVER ONCE told we were paying a $4,000 premium!! My vehicle listed for $41,415!! Found the window sticker on the way home. They totally and purposefully hid that from us and I am LIVID!!! Yes we decided we were willing to pay $45000 but it was a hard decision and we had to take extra money from savings to pay down to manage because we thought that was the list price and we knew they weren’t negotiating that n these vehicles. If they had asked and we had agreed that’s different. But after I told him we wouldn’t pay more than list and he said nothing, he was being fraudulent. And good grief Kia…something as basic as a garage opener link should be in every vehicle except MAYBE the cheapest economy cars!!!! It does all of the technologically advanced things, but I can’t open my garage door from my vehicle!! EPIC FAIL KIA!! My old 2008 model Chevrolet car did that!!

Beware of the “ADDENDUM” as they referred to it when I called them on it. That’s the fancy word for @we are going to up charge you!!!”

I would have turned around. I may have been going to jail but the salesperson would be spending a good chunk of time in the hospital.

While I sympathize, the guy did sign a contract, for a certain price. MSRP info is readily available online. I understand the dealer wasn't 100% forthcoming but you shouldn't expect them to be. Check your numbers, verify what you're paying before you even go down there.

All fine and dandy but the salesperson is a scumbag and intentionally did it. I guess agreeing on a price and a handshake isn’t valid anymore. Bottom line, if the guy agreed on the price and we shook on it, then that’s the deal for me. If he tried to slide something in after the fact then I would consider that stealing $4k off me, and he would be treated accordingly. Yeah the buyer should have double checked, but don’t let the fact that the salesperson, and that dealer are a bunch of scumbags.

Totally agree - but I don't see anything about a handshake above. The salesman never agreed to MSRP, told him it's 45k, and the guy said "no problem". Note, the sales person strategically avoided providing a sticker or confirming that there are no add-ons. Maybe in @Slexum's mind there was an agreement, but I don't see any confirmation. Not defending the mark-up dealer, by the way. Just advocating for checking your numbers and being self-reliant instead of trusting guy you'll never talk to again in your life.

As the Telluride goes they haven’t done much for incentives. We are trying to help with inventory control and some places are asking way more then we are! That being said we are not asking for any add ons for orders so they are sold at MSRP.
LOL! That was a good one. "Inventory control". Call it what it is. No need for the BS.

Where are you located?

If you travel about 20 miles south of this guy and visit Luther Kia you can get a really nice Telluride for MSRP with no BS. I highly recommend them....no bait and switch like this dealership. I ordered mine and received it in less than 3 months. They don't play the protection package bs with in stock or incoming vehicles either

Where did you order from?

Yeah good luck with getting one from them sooner then us!
Ummm...I got mine in slightly less than 3 months. Very happy with that all things considered.

I very much doubt anybody can get a toy ride in three months that’s not already spoken for. However if someone were to order one with us they would not have to pay the protection package!

Doubt all you want...could care less what a bait and switch salesperson thinks.
