• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Picked up my 2022 SX wolf grey telluride last week. After 9 month wait!

I have some questions regarding the infotainment that I could not figure out. Mostly surrounding carplay.

  1. What is the best way to get back to the home screen of the infotainment from carplay? I know there is a KIA "app" in carplay that I can click to go home, but it is multiple clicks and not very intuative. I've been pressing setup and then home button on the screen. I feel like I'm missing something.
  2. Is there any way to move back to previous input source? For example when carplay takes audio away from satellite radio input, is there a way to quickly move back to satellite radio? The radio button seems to just go through a list of inputs not the previous input. So I end up having to cycle through FM/AM radio to get back to satellite radio.
  3. Is there a way to automatically go back to radio source after carplay takes audio source(for reading messages or navigation)?

Hope that question 2+3 make sense.

Thanks!

I don't have Carplay, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think when I'm on a media page whether radio or Android Auto and want to get to what I think of the home screen, you can swipe right on the screen and I think it should take you home.

Cannot offer anything to you for 2 or 3.

Re questions 2 & 3. Try this: On the steering wheel, hit the ‘MODE’ button, once.

Regarding question #1. I will need help for other suggestions.

However, one way is to press & hold your favorite button (star symbol). It will display a menu with several choices. One of those is ‘Home’. Choose it.
After doing that, connect to CarPlay and test it. On mine (older version software), when I press the star button (after setting it to Home), takes me to Home Screen, Page 2. I can then swipe to the right to be on the main Home Screen page.

As I said, I do not have the latest software version. When in CarPlay, do you see a ’Home’ icon anywhere?

Appreciate the response@Katy_Tell and @MrWednesday21 . It really didn't achieve what I wanted.

- In carplay, swiping to right or left does nothing.
- I already have the favorite button set to carplay. I could set it to home but I think having a carplay button is more useful.
- There is a kia button in carplay that brings you "home" but it requires you exit out of whichever carplay app you are running then press the kia button.
- Mode button cycles through the inputs as well and doesn't select the previous. I have to press multiple times to select whatever I was listening to before.

  1. Quickest way as others have mentioned is to program home as your favorite (star) button. I find it is perfectly as easy to press Map then home icon.
  2. If you only want one radio source (ie. Sirius XM only) press and hold the mode button on your steering wheel and only enable the source you want. That way any time the audio source changes, a quick press of the mode button will bring you back without cycling though other audio.
  3. Not that I am aware of. Once it changes to Carplay audio, it sticks there. The scenario where voice guidance will only lower volume of another audio source and resume/maintain is if you are using the on-board navigation.
