• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... My Insurance is asking about Anti-Theft devices - I checked the first two but are any of the others relevant considering the UVO integration

The UVO app (Kia Access) CAN locate the vehicle, so I'd consider that Vehicle Recovery Device. I also believe the vehicle has passive disabling backed into the security system. Since this vehicle is brand new in the market, you may have to twist your insurance agent's arm to add discounts!

Thanks - They went ahead and added the Vehicle Recovery Device - it made no difference on my final price.

Typically insurers offer one lower theft discount for passive systems and a slightly higher discount for active systems. So since you'd already checked the active option, no surprise that VRD didn't change the price.
We can all expect that our 2020 Telluride insurance rates will change in a year or so as the insurers begin to collect active collision and theft data. Given all the electronics, my guess is our costs wil rise...

Telluride's insurance seems to be cheaper than the Sorento's, primarily because of built-in safety / security features.

I was pleasantly surprised - it was around a $1200 a year bump to add to our policy

My buddy just bought a fully loaded Hyundai Santa Fe. It has virtually identical safety and security as the Telly SX.
The fully loaded Sorento EX was a bunch more expensive than a Telly (at least at the 2 dealers I visited). The MSRP plays into new-in-market vehicle pricing. Additionally, the Sorento's been around for years, so auto insurers have excellent and extensive crash and repair data for the Sorento. So no surprise to me that the Sorento's insurance costs more.
Give it a year or two and I bet the insurance costs will be similar, but definitely enjoy the lower pricing now.

Ouch. Move to Wisconsin - our insurance is much less (but our winters are much more).

My insurance was $950 a year. This is full insurance, including glass coverage, etc.

My 455 hp Camaro, on the other hand, is just under $1K per year.

Wow - felt kinda bad but then realized you are in Canada so maybe not a heads up comparison.

Agreed. Unfair comparison given different markets, etc.

Lots of different factors are affecting everyones pricing. Starting with liability coverage limits, not to mention are we comparing CAD to USD? For reference for those who are curious, mine’s about $1,000 per year in GA for $300K/$500k BI limits through USAA.

I pay $323 for 6 months to Costco Ameriprise. Mine is AWD SX standard. It is hard to compare since a lot of factors play a role in insurance premium.

Y'all need to check out GEICO! I have 3 cars including the Telluride with them all fully covered at 300k/500k liability coverage. My premium is $746 per 6 months. Given the other 2 cars are older (2012 Kia Optima and 2013 Ford Fiesta). But still hard to beat their price!
