Love the Telluride, but the interior rattles have me down lately, and they all seem to have started at once (around 7,000 miles from new).
The most annoying is a deeper rattle coming from the rear of the vehicle whenever I go over some bumps. There's nothing loose in the back of the vehicle, so I thought it might have been the license plate hitting the tailgate. However, the license plate area already has some foam pads, and even after I added some more padding, the rattle persists. It sounds like a die rolling around loose and not the squeak you'd hear from failing shocks.
The middle seats are also vibrating at low speeds and cause quite the rattle. I've tried taping down the latch points for car seats but that didn't seem to work. Only stops when people are either sitting in the seats, or when I have them folded down.
Also seem to have rattles in the headliner. One from the rear climate area (which was covered by another thread here), but also from the sunglasses holder. Quite annoying to have a rattle that close to your face. In concert, it's quite a noisy ride now and I don't understand why everything seems to be rattling at once.
I would take it to the dealer to investigate, but they've already lost my trust. Took it in for its first oil change/tire rotation, and they didn't rotate the tires. When I asked them, they insisted they did rotate them, then I showed them the numbered stickers I put on the tires and how the numbers had not moved. Rotations are free here - now I know why. Oil changes were also supposed to be half-off, but they lied about that as well. Longer story.
The point is, like having the engine light on, it feels like less of a nice, new car if it's already making as much noise inside as my 11 year old mini-van. So that's why I'm down - no faith in a dealer to address anything, and unless some service bulletins are released, I don't see an end in sight.
