• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Anyone have issues with the vent being closed for interior only (in the picture) and when your driving 5-8 minutes later it opens back up on its own….

Need help understanding why or if it’s a glitch.

Check your sunroof is closed all the way. This includes closing of the sunroof tilt to vent, which is not as easy to see.

If you can’t tell what position it is in. Just open it and close again.

I’ve done that and took it to Kia and they told me the act controls interior circulation. If you ask me I think it’s BS…maybe I need to go to a different Kia

I don’t have the link but there is a lengthy section in the manual on how the system will cycle between vent and recirculation automatically under certain conditions. There is also a way to disable that.
You can search the forum for details.

Not enough info to understand your situation.

Is auto climate on?

Interior temp setting?

Outside temp?

Recirculating running for 8 minutes makes sense to me if it is very hot out and you are trying to cool the car off. Recirculate until car is cool (more efficient, faster cooling), then switch it off so fresh air is used.

Auto defog if the sensor detects moisture inside your car. I’ve seen when this comes on, it actually displays the word “Auto” in the climate controls.

Auto vent if the recirc is on for 30 minutes. Could try turning off either or to see if it solves your issue.
