• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Is The Towing Package Worth It?

And without towing do I need the self leveling suspension. Reading this post it looks it may help even with people and luggage load.

I have the tow package...I do not tow anything. Does the the "self leveling" suspension make a difference.....? I don't know, I would have to drive one WITHOUT the package before I could answer that. We just completed a 436 mile run with about 100 pounds of luggage and stuff in the back and it was very comfortable, etc......but how much of that is because of the "self level", just don't know.

I would just buy the one without the tow package and add a hitch if you need it. You don't need the self leveling shocks - as long as you're happy with the way the one you have ordered drives. You can save the $800. I think the regular shocks that come with the Telluride are very good. If you ever load the vehicle down to the point that it's really sagging, you can always have a $100 set of air bags added in the springs. Folks have posted about that.

Sounds like me a few months back. I did not get the tow package (EXP GG) But over the course of a month or so, I ordered the Kurt Hitch and trailer ball 2 inch and a Allen bike rack. Uhaul installed the hitch just last week. When I asked about self leveling and wiring he kind of looked at me weird like what are you asking me fo?

Im looking at a 2021 wolfpup and the owner said this camper comes with brakes and sway control bars, but is not self leveling. Is it recommenced I get my Telly balanced on an annual basis if I tow a lot? Gross weight of the camper is 3,900 lbs.

Last question, if I’m ready to purchase it, can I roll off the lot with how I currently have it set up- I’d say bare minimum.
No wiring done, temp plates will be on and I’ll be driving in the right lane.

I’ve seen a RV forum, but I would much rather just stay on this site. Perhaps a new thread for Telly Towing/camping for experts and beginners ;)

I'm no towing expert, but check out posts by @NCTelly. Bottom line, you need a brake controller before towing. Just get a CURT Echo Wireless and ensure that you have a 7-pin wiring setup installed correctly. You mentioned you got the hitch - but no mention of wiring.

Picked up the tow hitch harness from a kia dealer today (Last one) and auto zone for 2 extensions (one to be spliced to connect to the other and 4 to 7 adaptor). For some reason I needed a male end piece and they did not have that in stock. The RV has self leveling brakes.

I didn’t want to hold up having my Telly back in Jan to get this done. Thinking. About how much time was spent, I would have opted for the tow package just to have the harness and hitch pre installed.
