• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Kia is assembling many X-Line/X-Pros with different colored bumpers (light vs. dark)

I concur it is an optical illusion based on the color around the bumper. Have anyone compared the same color vehicle?
That would tell. On the other hand it does not make any sense at all for KIA to do something like this at all.

I've seen a few XLine's at local dealers with the light colored bumpers and I asked the dealer about it and they were confused why they looked darker than the Kia web site.

I was watching the following video tonight and the bumpers and side trim on the xline being reviewed is definitely much darker than what I've seen in person. The reviewer also mentions the bumpers are dark/gray. I don't think this is an optical illusion. However, this is a Canadian dealership.

Agree - it’s highly unlikely it’s an optical illusion. Kia messed this one up.

See my prev posts. 2 different instances of a dark moss side by side with a gravity gray. In one instance the bumpers are different shades, in the other instance they are the same. It’s not an optical illusion.

There’s ZERO chance Kia has been putting different color bumpers and trim on some X-line/XPro and not on others…Kia wouldnt open themselves up for all the litigation by owners who would want one but got the other…

its simply a lighting/camera shading difference in pictures.

I take delivery of an X-line in 10 days, i’ll see if I can get side by side pictures with other Tellurides.

Litigation over the color of the bumper? That's a new one.
If it turned out Kia purposely used the wrong color bumper and trim for the first tun of X series Tellurides, you dont think all of those owners would demand they get the new ones? Kia would decline to swap them for free and legal recourse is the only lever for owners to pull…

Vast majority of people will never realize/know. Of those that realize/know, a very small number (e.g., people who spend their time on car forums 😉) will care enough to make a fuss.

A large dealership in the Phoenix valley didn't even realize until I pointed it out on the several Pro and X-Line 2023's they had on the lot. Apparently, I was the first customer to say something.

I'm curious if darker bumpers will start showing up in the next few months ;). I've got one on order that will probably show up in the summer -- hoping darker bumpers and the hitch issues will be resolved by then.

Have you noticed on Kia’s website, where you can build your Telluride, they have changed the bumper color from the initial build color? I have kept photos and descriptions of X-Line features from the site since the X-Lines were available to build, order. This changed on the website in the past week. The first 2 photos attached (left to right) were how Kia initially presented the SX & SX X-Line on the website, the second 2 photos were the changes made in the past several days. Clearly, many complaints regarding this but what’s Kia going to do about it? I ordered a dark Telluride X-Line and I expect a dark bumper with darker trim around the grill as advertised when I ordered it.

Wow - good info. Wish they wouldn't have fixed it that way - but actually made the bumpers darker!!! lol

Yes, when I ordered a SX-P-X-Line in October 2022, I went by the top dark bumper (X-Line) photo. Because there weren’t/aren’t any X-Lines to look at on a dealership lot, we can only go by what’s advertised on Kia’s site. Anyone that’s not satisfied should demand a fix. Because I already have a 2020 Telluride SX, if I’m not happy with my new order, I’m not accepting it and moving on until they have what I want up the road. We shouldn’t have to settle!!!

They won't do anything, nor do I think they are obligated to. For that matter, many of the body colors aren't accurately represented on the website either. You know what you're getting and it is what it is. If it bothers you that much, you can always cancel your order. I also would have preferred darker, but the vehicle still looks great.

I agree. It's funny, I have a screen shot of the 2022 Everlasting Silver and it's a totally different hue than the 2023 representation. At the end of the day, you need to see things live. I understand that we couldn't do that within the first month of the 2023 ordering. Would I like my bumpers dark - absolutely. Will I live with what I get - absolutely. I may consider doing plasti-dip or wrapping the bumper - just depends on what I think it looks like. I'll find out this Saturday when I pick it up!!!

I have to disagree, I didn’t know what I was getting because it showed darker. If I get a silver bumper, that’s not what was shown when I ordered X-Line trim. There’s a definite difference in the bumpers shown on the ALL non X-Line trims where as ALL TRIMS show the same color of the body it’s Gravity Gray. I’m ready to decline the car if I don’t like it.

I’ve been reading about professionals wrapping bumpers and I didn’t like when I read you should wash by hand. I use a car wash and I don’t want to hand wash my car and I sure don’t want peeling or bubbles. Maybe they will give you a guarantee if you decide to do it. Please keep us updated! Are you just loving your new Telluride?

One of the reasons I moved on….it stands out like a sore thumb on the darker colors, looks cheap!

Here's my problem--dead center of my rear bumper (2023 SX X-Pro, Glacial White Pearl body) some loser a-hole scrapped up my bumper in a parking lot or something in that "silver/grey" area--two huge gouges! How the heck am I going to match that to touch it up so it doesn't look so horrible?
