If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Kia Telluride US production stats. by trim and colors

Ugh I hope not!! I’ve been waiting obscenely too long as it is already. I’m starting to get frustrated..

Just a few more months hopefully! As long as they restart production in May. But, look at it this way - you're saving by driving your old vehicle... and you'll likely get a 2021! So, it won't be all that bad. The wait is the trade-off for getting Muncie's discount.

Not sure the discount offsets the loss of use for the entire summer. I wanted this vehicle to transport a boat this summer. I'm ready to move on to an Explorer or other vehicle to be able to tow a boat. $2000 discount versus don't use your boat until August?? I'm thinking about moving on. No updates, no info from Kia about dates, features, new pricing for the 2021's. 2000k isn't worth it. Kia needs to know that. Just the fact that we are so far out from order dates, waiting for vehicles without any information about when they're going to come, and what we are going to pay and what new features we may or may NOT get, I'm becoming more convinced that this just isn't worth the wait. I'm becoming less and less impressed with Kia that they just can't meet the demand and certainly didn't plan well for production. Their stock has certainly dropped significantly in my opinion. They're not doing anything to win my loyalty. I'm leaning towards cancelling and moving on.

The Explorer may be better suited for towing a boat anyway - depending on size of boat. More power. You can get an ST Explorer for less than SXP right now. Ford will be discounting heavily, so I'd look in that direction. Even though interior isn't as nice... but with a 10,000+ discount off Ford's MSRP.

If you ordered in December, with the delay, you're looking at August in the best of situations. That would presume quite a few cancel orders in front of you.

Yeah - the discounts on the Ford's have gotten really high lately. Almost tempting...but that interior sucks really bad. Plus there is another advantage on waiting...and that is for the economy to stabilize. Many of us aren't impacted...yet. I am thankful to have a job - but I am also thankful to have a few more months for my wife to drive her paid for vehicle and save more cash to further reduce how much I will be borrowing.

We hope to get a 21 - 24 foot boat in the next 2 to 3 years. It would be too heavy for the Telly to pull. I can either get a cheap used pick-up just for towing or bite the bullet to get a twin turbo Explorer down the line to replace the Kia 😢.

The wait would be worth it. I used to drive the Ford for work and it was horrible. If you need to have something to tow with take a look at renting something for the few times you will need to tow. I think that you will be far happier with the Telluride. I looked at everything out there and for the money it was heads and tails better. I traded out of a Tahoe that I LOVED for 13 years. Am even happier with the Telluride.

It's an 18-foot Grady-White. Fully loaded and gassed up is probably 3,400 lb so it's well within the range for towing by Telluride. I'm just getting put off by Kia's overall inability keep up with production demands. Truthfully when they announced at the beginning of the new year they were going to increase production to 100,000 cars I have not noticed any significant increase in the daily production of Tellurides so I don't think their focus was on building more Telluride's.

Actually if you filter for the last 6 months, the factory did increase the numbers of Tellys they produced after December. TellyStats

Yes they did - but not to a 100K per year level. They started at 40K, then 80K, then announced a jump to 100K/year. That wasn't achieved prior to the COVID-19.

KIA has a good problem - that they have several hot sellers on their hands. When they announced the Telluride - they expected slow adoption of a vehicle that would cost nearly $50K. They expected sales around 40K/year and that the Palisade would be a bigger seller. No one expected the critical reception they would receive. Their last attempt at this price range - the Stinger - has been a sales failure despite how good it is. So they responded and tried their best to meet demand. The problem was that it seems every other month it won more and more awards - which kept just how good it was in front of potential buyers.

I don't think anyone would have expected the sales success of the Telluride - especially the top trim SX-P version - which has had the biggest demand. If you don't buy one - then that leaves a spot on the list for someone else - of which their will be tens of thousands lining up to get one.

MarcinTexas, I know you are right, and I will probably stick it out a few more weeks, if for no other reason than to hear what's going to happen when the Westpoint plant opens back up. Hopefully we will have some ideas about what the 2021 will offer differently. And when that production will start. If 2021s will be rolling off the line by August, it might be worth the wait. But I feel like my Dec 2019 order is going to be delivered in December 2020 and that doesn't seem worth it.

Don’t lose hope.

It is a great vehicle.

They had trouble getting parts from overseas where COVID-19 was rampant. I was keeping track by the local newspapers and the employees' comments. So they did try, but like the rest of us, outside forces ruined the best of plans. I was actually hoping that my car would come in just as they announced the changes in the new model. I had already worked out the possibility of giving up my Telly SXP in favor of a new model. But fate intervened and knowing how uncertain future production would be (and wanting my car I waited for since November 15), I now have it sitting in my garage...as of April 1.
Because of fate, I won't be driving it to my grand-daughters graduation from nursing school in May. Both because there are no safe places to stay, and because her whole graduation thing has been cancelled as well as our congratulatory party for her.

Looks like new VIN's are being generated.......

Yippee-Ki-Yay!!

There is hope. I’ve been waiting since 11/15 as well. Nothing yet..

Put my order in mid-December. Original ETA was 4/23. Delayed for obvious reasons. My dealer now gives me an ETA (after a couple emails and a few days) of mid-June.

That’s insane, since 11/15. I know I’m lucky and found ours as one coming in with 95% of our must haves, but I’d be shopping new dealers.

She's with a good dealer, problem is that dealer (like many others) only gets a few SX-P allocations per month - so wait time is extensive. If she wanted an S, I'm sure she'd have it by now. But that SX Prestige wait can be painful.
