If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Kia Telluride US production stats. by trim and colors

Kia sold a record 8,829 Tellurides last month.

Certainly have been cranking them out, but unless they are manufacturing at a higher than planned 100k/yr rate, doesn’t seem like too many are headed to Canada and the Middle East.

For what it's worth, my Failcat math put August at 9,148 cars. So far October is at roughly 8,600.

I have been combining failcat data and the google docs data and removing any duplicate VINs. Also - looking at when the serial numbers are generated relative to each document trying to better assign the months production. Google Docs has more USA VINs than failcat on a regular basis...so some manual review of when they post relative to what month they are in is necessary. All said - above is the best look at monthly production.

They are producing much more than that. The google docs data base has much more VINS on it as it pulls in production being delivered outside of the USA.

The google docs database isn't updated regularly - but when it does - nearly every time it finds VINs failcat missed - and I add them back into my database. It also shows CAN production as well if you are interested.

That means they sold more than they produced....great for KIA - but that means dealers will be starved for inventory for a little while longer. In August production was slightly higher than their sales numbers - so that probably equals out a bit. Needless to say - the public can't get enough of the Telluride - even a year and a half after introduction!!

I think that one of the difference for the VIN creation date between my Google Sheets and Failcat is that when I scrape for the window sticker, if there is none available for the serial number, I 'remember' the current date (for example October 2, 2020) and move on to the next serial number. The next day, when I scrape for new VINs again, I also go back a few 1000's VINs to see if some windows sticker that were not available previously are now available, and in this case I keep the 'old' original VINs creation date (for example October 2, 2020) and not the current date (for example October 6, 2020).

As for Failcat, I think that the VIN creation date is the actual date that the window sticker was scrape. So if a very old VIN from 2 months ago was scrape today, the VIN creation date will be marked as today.

Yeah...I have noticed that.

Either way - for some reason the google docs list is more complete. I am thankful to have both to get a better view of overall production mix. I love data!

Was suspecting that; what would you estimate the production rate to be?

115k/120k?

Yeah, some of what was built in August counts towards September sales (figure those that were manufactured at the end of September will count towards October sales, as wouldn't have made it to the lot on time, unless was headed for a local dealership).

Even when they announced raising production to 100k units/yr, didn't think that was enough for the US market, much less for supplying Canada and the Middle East as well.

The largest, most expensive (FWD-based) Kia is the best selling model.

Wonder if the new Sorento will be able to best the Telluride (could very well depend on manufacturing capacity, and considering the likelihood of the Sorento getting greater production, esp. with the hybrid, probably a safe bet that the Sorento will take the sales crown)?

Interestingly...KIA was one of the few auto manufacturers to post monthly sales gains for their brand in September...and the new Sorento hasn't even hit yet. KIA is taking the automotive industry by storm these days. I would be interested to hear @StephenCantrelle take on the sales numbers. Is KIA seeing more and more new shoppers/buyers to the brand than in years past? With their sales gains - it seems like KIA must be pulling in new customers and 1st time KIA buyers - now more than ever.

Been a while since I updated the graphs for total production as I have been focused on SXP production. While September was a little lower than August in total VINs produced - production remains strong. Anyone want any specific breakout....let me know.

The EX-P remains strong! It seems I’m starting to see dealers offer some occasional discounts; maybe I’ll be able to find one on a lot by the time I’m ready to go.

Where can I find the google doc to check on my VIN? Fail at not an option cus it’s US only

Here it is. Not sure how often it is updated.

I will try to update this Google sheet weekly.

I also suggest that you use this last 3 months VINs Google Sheet to make it load faster: Kia Telluride - 2021 - Production stats - Last 3 months

To find out Canadian VINs, you can click on 'Data | Create a Filter' and filter the data on Market = CAD.

You can filter on the data by clicking the green down arrow on the columns header:

Since Kia Canada does not give us access to the VIN window sticker like in the USA, the only way I am able to figure out if it's a Canadian VIN is by using the Canadian UVO service, but this only gives me the model (EX or SX) and serial number, but does not give me the color, interior color, dealer, etc..

One way I found out the color, interior color and dealer in my Google Sheet is by using the Kia Canada website at https://www.kia.ca/inventory but this inventory does not seem to get updated frequently (maybe once every 1 or 2 months).

I don't have a VIN yet but I just used the 'find' function and punched in my local dealer to see if a vehicle in the colour I ordered is on the sheet yet. It isn't. I'm not sure if that's how this spreadsheet is intended to be used...maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Your vehicle will show up in the google doc sheet or failcat once production has started.

Been a while since I posted an update to total production. October is on pace to be one of the best months in terms of volume so far:

October is only 3% below September production and we have another week to go. Record production and probably sales this month for the Telluride:
