Latest information on Ordering System(Kdealer/KFOS) starting Sept 2020

@StephenCantrelle I just checked in with my sales rep and he said my order was picked up this month but no delivery date just yet. When would you suggest I reach back out for a delivery date? My order was placed on 1/3 in the kdealer system.

Nothing that you can do other that. No dealer has access to another dealers order information.

Your lucky to have gotten that. I didnt get a receipt for deposit or anything. Just an email saying they placed my order. But based on excellent reviews I was okay with it and all is well. I reached out a few times through the months to ask my updated spot in line. That's a good way to track your progress on getting accepted by KFOS.

Not yet. We see the initial ETA’s first. You will get a VIN once Telluride goes into production. Specifically day after it goes into “Paint In” status

We spoke again the next day, dealer must have looked again, and we moved up to #21. Is it safe to assume this was the KFOS allotment for my dealer for the month? … meaning no more orders to be picked up from them until next month? or is it possible that more of their orders could continue to be picked up this month? Thanks for any insights! Appreciate!!

Likely is it till next months KFOS opens up. Might get lucky with a weekly allocation but yet to be determined.

The week before KFOS opened up(this month) was the first time in forever that I my store got a weekly allocation with Tellurides. So will have to see if this continues or was a one time fluke.

Normally orders just gets filled traditionally only though KFOS allocations which is once a month.

Hendrick Kia in Cary, NC! They were one of the only ones I could find in my pre-forum days that would sell at MSRP. Here’s the exact text:

“Its looking like it may be a bit longer than what was expected. Your order is moving up in the line you’re at 49 out of almost 400 current Telluride orders. “

Then the next morning we got this:

“Well KIA just picked up a handful of orders this morning so you are now in place #21! Your telluride should be for production in the next round or 2. The cars that were picked up today from KIA are probably going to be April and May deliveries. Yes, Your deposit is 100% refundable at any time and we can cancel the order.”

So I read that as Kia picks up orders from each dealer during the monthly KFOS window and if you’re at a bigger dealer with more orders it may take longer than if I ordered elsewhere? Am I understanding that correctly? If we’re looking at summer now - any merit or worth to ordering elsewhere and seeing if we could get it sooner elsewhere?

My order got picked up early last week, and I got an ETA date yesterday of April 29th. I don't know whether that is consistent with what others are seeing or not. I wouldn't think that time frame would depend on allocations, as that part of the process seems to be complete for my order. I would be really surprised if you could get a new Telluride sooner than April or May if it isn't already in the manufacturing process.

We placed our order 8/23/2021 - no deposit, just a writeup sheet - MSRP + 898.00
Fail cat showed it on 2/9/2022 - as ordered except factory dropped the RSE (which from what I hear is no big loss)
Dealer said it was showing 2/24 ETA to them
Estimates 2/27 ready to go.

My order finally got picked up this month and the dealership gave me an ETA of 6/5. Everyone seems to be getting an ETA of april or early may. does it really take 4 months to build and deliver?

Go on failcat and see how many orders your dealer is averaging a month that will give you a close guesstimate.

Sorry if this is a silly question but can someone confirm if I have this right? I placed an order today and the dealer sent me a picture of the deposit receipt, a paper order form, and a print out of the car options showing the MSRP. He said they will email when the order is confirmed with Kia “as soon as we submit it.”

is it safe to assume that “submit“ it means being entered into KFOS? And that the dealer gets to submit a certain number at any given time? And mine will be submitted once the backlog of orders ahead of me clears? So Kia has no idea my order exists, and in a few months from now they will eventually get around to submitting?

do I have the process correct? And if so, should I figure out how many people are ahead of me?

Hey Stephen, I believe I was picked up by KFOS in that extra weekly allocation on 2/7. So I was wondering is there a chance my dealer matched me up with one of those weekly allocations and it may not match exactly what I ordered? Like interior seat color may be gray instead of black, or more options then I had chosen, or an ex premium instead of the sx I ordered? I was approaching the front of the line when that extra allocation came in and I worry bc my dealer only does tellurides on order and doesn't sit them in the lot.
