Latest information on Ordering System(Kdealer/KFOS) starting Sept 2020

Sometimes takes a day to show... if they said you have an ETA like earlier this week like Monday or Tuesday then I see read flags of something not adding up
Our dealer told our ETA on the beginning of August. I am super confused.

Our dealer never told is about our vin.... He said its October 12. Our dealer is Oakes Kia
Thanks

If your dealer told you ETA of October 12th back in August, ask him if it went into KFOS in August. That could be where the ETA is coming from. With the delays we’re seeing, your ETA could be delayed too.

Highly unlikely to have a VIN until approx a month before your ETA at the minute. VINs used to appear a couple weeks before delivery. Now some members have a VIN up to 4-6 weeks before delivery, believe due to backlog in transport.

If they have ETA they have VIn.. Tell them you need it for insurance of something.. if they cant give you a Vin then don't trust an ETA
@StephenCantrelle Is this always the case? I put put a deposit on a dealer allocation vehicle that had yet to be built, but was told the ETA was 10/2. It has since been pushed to 10/30. The vehicle hasn't been built so I'm assuming there is no VIN, in which case where would these ETAs be coming from?

I apologize doing 10 things at once.. when your order is accepted by Kia though KFOS the dealer will see an ETA.. you will get the Vin number when the car is built.. once you get vin I can verify delivery ETA's as you get closer to having Telluride get to store..

Sorry for confusion on my end

THIS is the information that I've wanted and been looking for! Thank you so much @StephenCantrelle for doing what you're doing. I'm pretty sure that my salesman is afraid he's going to use up his word limit. I asked today for some sort of information, even if it was no news at all, and my return email just said '10/28'. That was the whole message. I haven't been badgering the guy for information, either.

under the current process they could not transfer... starting next month they will have to delete before KFOS opens or it will automatically go in
Stephen, do you know what the dates are each month that it opens? Can an order be picked up at any time or just in that window?

KFOS opens mid month.. usually around 12-17 range.. dealers puts in orders(either fresh or transfer from Kdealer for orders taken from before) then a few days later orders get filled and given initial ETA..

so orders can be placed at any time during the month in Kdealer and goes in a queue

I appreciate the info, my dealer took my deposit July 18th, I am told I am not in KFOS yet but I was like 4th in line... so I wasn’t sure what the actual process was.

So my dealer rep called me and told me my order DID get accepted earlier this month into KFOS. Attached is the screenshot he sent me. My order is circled in red. Is this KFOS? Does that ETA look legit?

Thanks for all the info and help.

Yup that's legit.. now you just wait for it to be built to get a Vin number

@StephenCantrelle I have talked to 2 or 3 Kia dealers this past week that seem to have no clue about these Kia ordering system changes for Sept, shouldn't they know about them by now?

If they have a good management team that communicates they should...

OK, thanks. I was talking to an Internet Sales Manager yesterday that said he had not heard about the changes but that he would ask his Kia Rep about it next week when he visits the dealership.

I was sort of wondering what would happen if a dealer was not properly maintaining their full wait lists in Kdealer and then whatever was in Kdealer automatically transfers to KFOS depending on their allocations? Seems like the order of things entered into KFOS could get screwed up?

The dealers I talked to recently seem to be assuming they will still be entering in their KFOS orders manually. Hopefully things get straightened out before the KFOS window opens for Sept.

All sales people who are on the internet team are " internet sales managers" so wouldn't read to much into it.. Most dealers will have one person dedicated to putting orders into KFOS so that little confusion happens..

Prior to this coming up allocation we manually entered/transferred orders into KFOS from Kdealer..

If they don't read the messages on our internal billboard from Kia and have orders sitting in KFOS that aren't up to date and are not accurate then yes will effect them this month and then they will realize whats going on...

Like a moving train you either see it coming and get out the way or you will know once it smacks you if you aren't paying attention.

Do we know the Sept dates yet for when allocations will be released and when the KFOS ordering window will be open?

Pretty standard for KFOS to open around the 13th-17th each month

Will dealers still be allowed to manually enter orders when the allocations open in September? My dealer (sales manager) told me today that I am first in line for an SX and he would enter the order when and if he gets an allocation for one this period. At the time this happens, he said he would call and finalize my order as to options etc. and enter it into KFOS. Is this going to be allowed? Thanks for your help!
