I bought an SXP from Kia of Monroeville less than two weeks ago for MSRP + a $1k paint/interior "protection package." I wasn't exactly delighted with that add-on, but considering the fact that the time from the start of my new car search to the Telluride's arrival in my garage was only 11 days, I can't complain too much.I live in western pa on the border of Ohio , I’m looking for someone that will sell at msrp . Any luck out there ?
Yes, Kia of Monroeville initially lowballed me on my trade, but I got them to go up by $2k, which moved the offer from unacceptably low to more like standard, stingy-dealer low. I might have been able to get more by selling the vehicle separately, but it was far more convenient for me to wrap everything into one transaction. For me, it was the value of the entire package that I had to consider (super-quick turnaround + great specs on the Telly + no explicit markup over MSRP + $1k protection package + cheap but not outrageous trade offer). This was very far from the best deal I've ever gotten on a car purchase, but I had the sense that it was probably the best deal I could expect on a new Telluride for the foreseeable future.Don't forget to factor your trade value if you have one - I found a dealer at 3K market adjustment, but they were much lower on my trade.
I got the impression that that was a possibility, but I don't know for sure. Kia of Monroeville had at least a half-dozen Tellurides in transit for delivery around the end of May. A few of these were still available for reservation at the time I was talking to the dealer about their available inventory. The SXP I chose was not the only one. There was at least one other SX and maybe an EX that I could have bought. It was an embarrassment of riches, really. Anyone with a little flexibility about colors and equipment would have felt as though they'd stumbled into a gold mine.Don't forget the tax savings with the trade in - that gets deducted from the sales price. At 7% it helps.
Was this a Telluride that someone backed out of?
