• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Map Update v16.0 Arriving May 5th

Downloaded to my computer, but I guess I need to go shopping for a bigger flash drive. The biggest I have is 32 Gb. It says I need 35 Gb. This must be a big update. (It took quite a while to download to my computer)
I used a 64gb USB, and it took 1 hour 25 minutes. The first half of the download took the bulk of the time. Then, about 20-25 min to finish.

I did the same as @PittPa - I put the car on a battery tender and let it update in the garage. It probably took 90 minutes. I've had too many years of software updates that required letting the car run in the driveway or driving around with decreased functionality while the updates loaded.

I did the April 28 update yesterday, and it did not require that the car to be running. I put it in accessory mode and the update took almost an hour. No installation issues.

I left mine on accessory and it stayed on for the whole installation time. It took close to an hour. One great thing about this update: the horrible nixie tube display for the radio is gone!

If you want to display your AA maps and your phone audio, yes. But currently you can display the phone audio info on the right 1/3 if you’re using the stock maps, weather etc on left 2/3.
I'm still having issues listening to fm or xm radio while using AA. Whenever I press the mode button on the steering wheel while in AA, it'll kick me out and take me to the radio screen. Any fix for that?

Thanks,
Kevin

There’s nothing you can really do about the mode button stealing visual focus… it’s just doing what you told it to do (switch to radio). The best thing you can do is have you star (favorite) button programmed to phone projection. Then if you hit that star button, it’ll flip you back to AA, but won’t steal the audio focus. Radio will continue to play unless you start something in AA.

I am currently trying the same thing. It seems crazy that the car has to be running for up to an hour just to update the headunit.

I don't think you can set star to phone projection on a '22, can you?

I get the warning to turn on the ignition so the battery doesn't run out in about 4-5 minutes of having the radio on. Is that normal and just overly conservative, or do I maybe have a bad battery?

Yes, you can. I have it set that way. When presented with the list of apps that can be assigned, you can scroll down.

Sorry if I missed it in this thread but how do I get this update? Anybody have step by step process to install they can point me too?

Thanks in advance. Fellow android auto user here and found it silly that half of the screen was dead space 😂

Make sure you have a USB stick on hand that's at least 40gig total space. Download the navigation updater, and it will walk you through downloading the update and provide step-by-step instructions on how to install it.

I've noticed I have no weather information since the update. Any fixes?

Do you have an active Kia Connect subscription?

:ROFLMAO: Thank you! I didn't realize you could scroll that list. Just changed star to phone projection.
