You either need to get used to the minimal black/purple home screen, or settle with the split screen options.I installed the purple update this week and am wondering how or if we can customize the “home” screen? Or is home just the full list of widgets now? in the last version, I was able to customize and used the star️ button to customize the display for 3-way split of Audio / Map / Weather. Can’t find that option anymore. Now, either the main screen is black with the time display in purple or the page of all widgets.
don’t care about the color, just want to display what I use the most
Just noticed that the radar (speed camera) alerts are back to be shown on HUD. The alerts were disabled with November 21 update. The update became available for my region this morning. It took less than half an hour to update. It's nice to have Android Auto on full screen.
The other change is the filtration of POI's. I haven't noticed any other change, maybe I need to play around.
The radio interface is still the same, the nixie tubes![]()
I updated from the old tri-screen directly to this as the tube display was disgusting to me.This was a nice update. But how can they still leave the "track up / track down" button on the steering wheel INVERTED on Android Auto!? For those who may not know, you hit the button DOWN to skip ahead a track / fast forward. UP to go back / rewind. Its not a huge deal but also drives me batty!
Come on! That has to be an easy fix!
You might be confusing this with the new option to change the operation of the presets with that same toggle.I updated from the old tri-screen directly to this as the tube display was disgusting to me.
After I started the vehicle the first time and set up my profile, it actually asked when if I wanted to invert them. You may want to try to run through the profile setup again.
You might be confusing this with the new option to change the operation of the presets with that same toggle.
Before, a quick flip of the toggle would cycle presets, a flip and hold would scan available stations. Now, you can reverse that function if you want (quick flip = station scan, flip and hold = presets only).
There has never been any ability to reverse the direction of the button. Down is always next. And they’re making that especially clear by making the radio a list again.
If you are using a thumb drive, make sure it is 64gb. That's the limit according to the documentation. I was getting the same message doing the update and I bought a 64gb thumb drive and the update worked. Hope it solves your problem.Took delivery of my 2022 Telluride "S" May 19th. I am attempting to update the mapping data. Downloaded and installed "KIA Navigation updater" on Windows 11 PC.
Ran it and downloaded a set of files after specifying the software version of the current system. I have tried this about 6 times now, slightly altering the process steps. Every time the update abends after a few minutes with the discouraging message "The Audio System Update file(s) are corrupt or do not exist".
What am I doing wrong??
Thank you for your response ... I am already using a 64GB mem stick. If you are using a thumb drive, make sure it is 64gb. That's the limit according to the documentation. Fwiw, it worked for me using a 128GB USB drive. I assume you are trying to download from the website directly to the stick.Thank you for your response ... I am already using a 64GB mem stick.
Appreciate the info, thank you. My 64GB USB stick is 8 years old. Perhaps it's time to invest in a newer device to rule out the possibility of a hardware compatibility issue, or failure. I'll keep y'all postedFwiw, it worked for me using a 128GB USB drive. I assume you are trying to download from the website directly to the stick.
I took delivery on May 31, and the vehicle was built in early May, so we may be similar in that respect. I experienced no incidents in installing the update.
To eliminate turning the system into a "brick", you need to make sure that the vehicle does not shut down during the update. Later updates allow the update when the vehicle is off but, since you are starting from square one, this option isn't available. I did my initial update on a long drive and it took well over an hour.I apologize for asking something which has been discussed, but after reading this thread I'm unsure of the final answer.
Currently I have the old (3-panel) operating system, I never upgraded to the one with the radio tubes. I'll find the full screen AA in this version useful, so I'm ready to update.
Does the car need to be on and running the whole time? I do not have a battery trickle charger that some have mentioned using to do it in accessory mode.
Thank you
Farewell 3 panel display I knew thee well,,,,Welcome uncertainty and update issue threads! How exciting.I apologize for asking something which has been discussed, but after reading this thread I'm unsure of the final answer.

For my update, prior to this one, I pressed the ignition button twice (without pressing the gas pedal) to put it in the run position without starting it. Worked fine for me.I apologize for asking something which has been discussed, but after reading this thread I'm unsure of the final answer.

Just did the update for the telluride 2022 5W version and so far I can tell, that all the navigation destinations (eg favs+history) are lost but the radio favs are still there.Dumb question but I just got the car in March so this will be my first time to attempt an update. Does it delete all of your settings when it updates or does everything transfer over to the new software edition (radio favorites, ambient light settings, map favorites, camera settings, etc.)?

Nope - just let it load. Some features will be disabled until it completes.I have loaded the update on my jump drive. Since it takes so long to download to vehicle, we have a 3 hour drive Thursday. I think we’ll download then. During the download process does it ask to shut vehicle off, then on, etc.
Hoping it will just smoothly download during the trip and we’re good.
