If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Mothership Update 1/11/20

My ETA is mid March... if the mothership does what the motherships wants to.. what’s stops them from simply cancelling even legit orders if they decide to new model year!!

Million dollar question. Nobody knows. I highly doubt they would just cancel. It would cause mass chaos and you'd have people leaving the brand. Would be equally as bad for dealers.

No. The men in black usually share little info.
C’mon man, you can share. Just use the light thingy to blank everyone’s mind.

Lol. That was swamp gas that you saw.

Just got off the phone with my dealer (getting nervous reading the comments) and they received a call from KIA asking for any orders that had not been filled for Aug and Sept along with proof of deposit. My dealer had six orders for those months and he sent the information in. Unfortunately, my order was placed Dec 7. So I'm guessing, I will have to wait a few more months before they request December orders.... He also thinks it is doubtful the new 2021 orders will be released this spring but will arrive in the fall. Only time will tell. I feel reassured that my dealer is on the up and up. He answered all of my questions and didn't rush me off the phone and said to call anytime. So I sit (not patiently) waiting for my call that I have a vin#. Hopefully late spring or early summer!

KIA called our store directly and asked for the oldest Telluride orders that we had in our system. Here is where it gets interesting. They also asked for Purchase Order/Bill of Sale and Proof of Deposit. They also wanted all of this information sent to them. We had zero problem on our end producing everything they requested. I have a feeling the KIA dealers not being honest are going to have bogus orders yanked away. Stay tuned friends.

Here’s a thought. They want to check dates so they can apply the new price increase to orders placed after the drop dead date 😃. I’m so glad I ordered with you and we got r done before the price increase. Of course, this is all speculation.

21s won't hit till Fall.

The Sh** Storm could be gathering speed in the Gulf.... Dealers with bogus orders and customers waiting on those Tellurides could be in for a rude awakening. When it makes landfall, brace yourself! Once again... Pure Speculation!

Not going to happen. The worst violator in the state of Texas for both false orders and outrageous markups ($10,000) is Southwest Kia, who happens to own multiple Kia stores in cities all across Texas. On the Telluride production spreadsheet, they account for 911 Tellurides. They have already been caught cheating on fake orders months ago, supposedly punished, yet still get more allotment than other dealers and still gouge the market. Why are they allowed? Because Kia does not care if dealers make huge profits and hack off a few people selling Tellurides. Southwest sells more of the Optimas, Souls, Sorentos, and all of the rest of the Kia line than other dealers do. They sell the popular and unpopular, not just Tellurides. They make Kia money, and Kia turns a blind eye to the abuses as a result. Kia cannot exist on the Telluride alone, so if you sell more of the whole line than the other guy, you're good. Money talks.

The Telluride is the most popular girl at the prom right now. They will enjoy their time in the sun, and then others will redesign and pass them by. The Genesis division is going to be producing a version of this platform, obviously aiming at the luxury market (Acura, Lexus, Audi, etc.), a place where the Telluride is already pulling sales from. Given time, all things will balance out, but don't expect Kia to worry too much about abuses right now with the market this hot.

I'll stick to what I see and hear.

You sir are the winner. Couldn’t have said it better myself about allocation.. volume..(not just on Tellurides) and higher powers..

HALLELUJA! Seems like forward progress to me.
Very interesting!
Sounds like a familiar story to me...multiple times dealers from my pre Kia of Muncie days have touched base with me to and tol

So you gave them my order number and proof of deposit and told them to fill it first, right ? Right ? :-) You have a hard job my friend !

Perhaps Kia is doing the right thing and determining what legitimate orders have been out there 4-5 months without being filled and will focus on those first.
