• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hi all...

Went to mount the new plate I got from the state.. went to remove the temp plate with my screwdriver.. screws just spun. Pulled out with my hands.

Now trying to put on the template, screws just fall out of the holes... There's nothing to mount a plate to, just the two holes.. any advice for a Kia noob?

I just checked mine - machine screws. So
1) too small a screw used by dealer
2) stripped threads - bigger problem

sounds like they used the wrong size screw. I had some stainless steel screws left over from something else. I used them and some anti seize on the threads. I used the silicone license plate holder.
