• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Just curious what everyone’s mileage has been so far? I’m about a week into ownership and have been blown away by how good the mileage. My commute is about 4 miles of city driving and 10 miles of country roads and my average for the trip is 27.5!! So far I’ve been babying it and driving it like an old lady but it’s nice to know what it’s capable of mpg-wise.

What’s everyone else getting??

Edit: I have an EX FWD

Took a trip from Minneapolis to St Louis and played around with it on the way down and back. On the way down I kept the my EX AWD in Comfort mode and got 27 MPG. On the way back I kept it in Smart Mode and got 29.5 MPG....was blown away. All Hwy driving of course. In just city driving I have been getting around 19 MPG and that's a mix of Smart and Sport driving.

SX AWD, keeping it in smart mode I average 22-23 city driving. I have a trip this weekend so hope to see highway mileage better than that!

I just took a 2.5 hour family road trip. About 40 minutes there was some traffic on the freeway getting out of the city and hit many lights. I had comfort mode on most of the time and eco on for about 20 minutes. I have an EX AWD and got 26.2 mpg and I’m a pretty aggressive driver. I always go 9 over the speed limit. Pretty happy

I had a 800 KM trip today. My average fuel economy on highway is only 8l/100 with 3 adults and 1 dog. It is pretty impressive! Good job Kia.

Over the past 3,000 miles, the trip meter says 24 MPG. Yesterday I drove 156 miles on country roads between family members' homes to visit. Filled up when I left, and when I got back at the same pump. Drive info page showed 27.9 MPG, hand calculated at 27.44 MPG.

Made our first longish highway trip yesterday. Averaged just over 27mpg. I live in East TN so hilly, windy roads. Been getting 18-19 around here. Same as I was getting with my mini van. I have the EX AWD.

MW avg'd 25.2 mpg in their test.

What is everyone using for fuel? I live at 7100 feet so our regular gas is 85 octane. As you go lower in altitude the octane increase to 87 for regular. Does any one use premium fuel and does it give you better mileage?

Per the manual, 87 is required at minimum and Top Tier is recommended to prevent carbon build up on the valves due to the DI system. I’m assuming you’re in Colorado and the 85 octane is really only suitable to older cars at high elevation. I would stick to Top Tier 87 as anything else will just be a waste of money.

I'm very happy so far with my EX FWD. Engine isn't even broken in yet (car now has about 400 miles on it) and I got 31MPG on a 90mi trip through mostly hilly country backroads averaging about 55mph! Used smart cruise most of the way and man what a system! Just for fun it was raining and in the dark and the smart cruise was still taking me around turns pretty reliably (with both my hands gripping the steering wheel pretty tight in case it got confused haha).

On the last 400 miles of a 4k mile trip. Been tracking mpg via milage/gallons. It has been really close to what the car says. This AWD in eco mode is getting 32 MPG through the mountains. Kia is killing it.

Nice! We also have AWD and have only managed to get to 26mpg. Not complaining, though.
