Hopefully yours will show soon. I just took a peak at the arriving soon page. It looks like they got 6 tellurides in yesterday. It updates every night at 3am.congrats on the car. Pretty envious that you got your car while I am still waiting.
Congrats! Can you let us know how the purchase process goes (like, did they try to force any add-ons, how long were you there, etc.)?Just got word from Roger that my telluride has arrived!!! Hopefully going to pick it up tomorrow. Finally, this is so exciting.
I do have a trade in, but I plan on trading to carmax or we buy any car. The offers are much better from those companies then from dealers. I might see what they offer but I don't anticipate them offering enough.
When I ordered from Murray last year, I originally planned to get trade-in offers from all of the online places and then compare with what the dealership offered. I listed my old vehicle for sale online soon after placing my order. For the most part, I only received low-ball offers from dealerships well under what Vroom was offering. After hearing about the low-ball offer @arattle received from Murray, I just decided to sell it instead of waiting to see what they would give me for it...I am confident it would have been lower (even accounting for the tax break) than Vroom. That's basically my thought/plan. Trading in would save me around $1k in sales tax though and I figure that would be the simpler route. I think I still plan on trying to sell to Carmax or Carvana (since my assumption is that their offers are > 1k over a trade-in offer) but I'm very curious about what the trade-in offer would be.
Thanks for the info! Did you end up selling it to Vroom? And if so, once you initiated the process to sell it to them, how long did it take for them to get the car and pay you? When I ordered from Murray last year, I originally planned to get trade-in offers from all of the online places and then compare with what the dealership offered. Was wondering this too. I hear other manufacturers/dealers are forcing service packages on people.Congrats! Can you let us know how the purchase process goes (like, did they try to force any add-ons, how long were you there, etc.)?
I did sell to Vroom. The process was painless. Once I committed to sell to Vroom, the car was picked up in about a week. I received electronic payment 2 days after the car was picked up.Thanks for the info! Did you end up selling it to Vroom? Yes I will update this evening on how everything goes. Picking it up in 5 hours!!Congrats! Can you let us know how the purchase process goes (like, did they try to force any add-ons, how long were you there, etc.)?
Thanks for the update! The surcharge would certainly be less than ideal. Is their financing through KIA financing or do they just ping a handful of banks? If I recall, I read that KIA financing has fees for early payoff so that was the primary reason I wanted to find my own. That and I would prefer to have my loan through the bank where I do my normal banking.I have my Telluride and I love it!
The process was super smooth and quick. So yesterday Roger told me my vehicle was in. He asked for our drivers licenses and proof of car insurance for our current vehicle. Also had us fill out the online credit application. Also wanted to know down payment amount. Today when we got there they had all the information plugged in and ready to go was done in the finance office in 25 minutes . It definitely sped it up that I didn't bother with the trade in and I had my own financing ready.
Side note: If you bring your own financing there is a $1000 surcharge. Roger told me that they would match my banks interest rate and no surcharge. When he tried to match my rate he couldn't. So we ended up going with my financing and he didn't charge me the surcharge since he couldn't match my rate.
After we were done in financing we were introduced to a woman named Kiah. She took us out to our Telluride and went through all the features with us.
I am extremely happy with how everything went.
Questions are welcome.
Thanks for the update! Glad you are happy with how everything went. I agree though, that is a bummer about the $1k surcharge. I'm a little confused as to why they told you that, but then said they wouldn't charge it?I have my Telluride and I love it!

My bank doesn't give a blank check. They gave me something called an express draft up to an amount I was approved for. The dealer fills out the express draft and sends my bank all the paper work. Then my bank releases a check to the dealer. Thanks for the update! Glad you are happy with how everything went. I agree though, that is a bummer about the $1k surcharge. I have been planning to bring in my own financing when I pick up the car, so that is great to know. I've actually never done that before. Did you walk in to the dealership with a check from your bank in hand, or was the money transferred during the purchasing process?

I used my local CU that I've been banking with for years. It could have been any bank but they had the best rate for an 84 month term (2.62%) I know lower rates are available with a 60 month term but this was by far the best rate for 84 months. I don't know if anyone can just become a member, i think someone has to refer you? Maybe. Its suneast credit union. Also their rates went up a little since I went on 3/21AndrewH2020,
May I ask more details on the financing you got?
Thanks,
Yea, the surcharge was definitely a bit of a surprise when I mentioned I had outside financing a week before my vehicle was due in. Roger seemed confident they would beat my banks terms, but could not when the time came. When I put in my credit application online they hit 5 different banks and none could match. When I got mine, Murray beat even the Kia promotional financing rate, so I was happy to go with their financing. As for the $1000 charge to use outside financing, that’s a bit off putting unless they told you about it upfront. Good to hear they waive the fee if they can’t match or beat your rate with their lenders, however.
That's a great rate for that term. You timed that well! Rates seem to have generally gone up a percent or more in the last couple of weeks. Probably why they couldn't match it on the day you picked it up since you locked in a better rate right before they pretty much universally increased.I used my local CU that I've been banking with for years. I forgot to ask, I'm sure they offered you an extended warranty, etc. Did you get one?I have my Telluride and I love it!

The finance guy went through the whole spiel for extended warranty, paint protection, tire and windshield coverage. But i didn't add anything. I'm not big on extended warranties. I'm good with the factory warranty which is pretty good in itself.I forgot to ask, I'm sure they offered you an extended warranty, etc. Did you get one?
Did you get prestige with your telluride? I saw a gravity gray sx w/ gray interior and prestige on failcat from 4/6?AndrewH2020,
May I ask more details on the financing you got?
Thanks,
