• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Reading through the warrenty it says "you are required to retain maintenance records since it may be necessary in some instances for you to prove that required maintenance has been performed." In the Manual on page 7-10 and 7-11, there is a specific footnote (#3) for "Valve Clearance" (every 60k miles or 72 months) that says "Have an authorized Kia dealer perform the operation."

Question - do you always have teh dealer do all scheduled maintenance, or can you / do you have other shops perform the maintenance? The warrently language, except of certaiin key areas, just seems to say that you need to maintain records proving you had the scheduled maintanance done, not that it must be done my a Kia Dealer.

Thoughts?

You can definitely go to an independent repair shop or do the services yourself. If you do the services yourself, just keep the receipt and notate it with the mileage you performed it at. Obviously the benefit of using the dealer, is all your records are easily accessible.

Thanks - that's what I thought but wanted to make sure no fine print I may have missed.
