• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I ordered a Black SX-p awd back in February. Switched me to a 2021, and it has finally made it to the dealer.
A few questions: my dealer added a few things on my quote when I ordered and said I didn’t have to get them when it arrived. But wondered if others knew of these “additions”. And wondered if I should do them.
#1 Kia care package $1495
#2 Reintstall $1495. (Which I believe is the leather protection for the nappa

Anyone have these with their dealers?

No.....No......and Hell No!

These are tricks of the traditional car sales business to maximize their return.

That’s what I figured. I texted the dealer today and asked about them, and of course he didn’t respond about it. Just what time to come in

I think the Kia care package had maybe the hood protection from bugs etc. Its been so long since we talked about it, I can’t remember. Of course I will find out tomorrow..
I would like to have some “coating” on the paint of some sort, but I am guessing the dealer isn’t the best place for that regarding pricing etc
Any tips for things I should do to keep paint etc protected longer since it is black ?

Ceramic coating by a professional or yourself.

The care package might include nitrogen for your tires, paint protection, undercarriage protection, pinstrip, and other unnecessary dealer add-ons. These are close to pure profit for the dealership.

The best inexpensive way to maintain your paint is to keep it clean, wash it yourself, and put a high quality polymer shield every 3 to 4 months. Expensive way is to have ceramic coating and this must be done by someone whom has done it lots of time, a professional. It will protect the paint from the elements (not rocks nor shopping carts) for a few years.
For the inside, just clean it with a high quality product every few months. If you have young kids, then don't even bother :)

Nope. Pass on that.

It's all shit. Nope, nope and no. Not even on double coupon day. Hard pass.

Tell them no and hold your ground.

If you want a ceramic coat applied you need to have a true professional detailer do it. Someone who specializes in ceramic coatings.

They are just padding there profit margin.
