If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... Hello all,

I ordered my first Kia last month , ordered

EX P AWD nightfall with wolf gray

Ordered from the dealer in Colorado, I'm in NorCal

Order date: 7/20
Kfos order: 8/11

When will my order be picked up by Kia? When will I be able to get a vin to track on Failcat?

Dealer estimates around Christmas for my order, which is kinda bummer. Any information on others in same loop?

KFOS date is when order was accepted for manufacture. A VIN would follow within a few days, maybe a week. Christmas delivery seems rather long for an order that has been picked up. Good luck!

EDITED because I misspoke about VIN when I meant ETA:

If it was picked up by KFOS, you are in the queue. You should have an estimated delivery date by now. The dealer gets it withing a couple of days of KFOS closing, which is only open for a few days. It should show up in failcat 4-6 weeks before estimated delivery. If it goes by truck, about 4 weeks, 6 weeks if it goes by rail. The dealer will have the VIN the day before it shows up in failcat. If they are proactive, they will let you know.

This is what I got in reply from dealer on Aug 12:

great news we received our KFOS allocation today, and
received enough EX orders to fill yours, so your order is now
sequenced for production, it normally takes 2-3 months for it to be
built, shipped and arrive at the dealer. Your next update will be when
your order has a VIN # we will send the window sticker and provide an
updated ETA at that time. We do send out semi-monthly Telluride
newsletters about available Telluride inventory that is incoming,

When he said holidays on phone, maybe he meant Thanksgiving instead of Christmas, let's see

From what I've experienced, KFOS only indicates that you've advanced to the next stage. I was picked up into KFOS in July and am still waiting on a VIN and ETA.

Chris Harmon but I haven’t heard from him since placing the order. Roger has been providing me with updates.

I ordered on June 24th from i25 Kia, I got update on July 18th stating eta of 10/5. No VIN yet!

For reference, my order got picked up this month and the dealer, NowCar, gave me an ETA of 10/25. I would expect your order should arrive before Thanksgiving. Good Luck!!

If it was picked up by KFOS they should be able to give you ans ETA. The vin won’t be usually available until it’s about a month before your Eta.

Yep we got an eta but from what I’ve read, that eta is not provided by Kia but more a guess by the dealer. The real eta comes from Kia once you have a vin.

From what I understand most of the ETA are on point within a few days.

Thanks, appreciate it

Hoping for a quicker turnaround

That is an incorrect assumption. The initial ETA is provided by KIA along with all subsequent ETA's. Once a VIN is created, the ETA becomes more reliable, but it is always flexible.
