  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my SUV" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your leather interior, please post in the Interior section - and so on... I've been lurking this forum for over a year biding my time for a Telluride. Having researched the threads I've decided to tri Fowler in Colorado to have one shipped to me in California. I spoke to Anna on the phone who said special orders are 8 - 9 months out. I'm seeing on the threads that some people are getting their orders sooner than they expected. I'm finding communication with them to be kind of difficult which is contrary to what I'm hearing on these forums. Chalking that up too low staffing but I'll ask feedback here: If I place an order (I've never done that with a car before) and get tired of waiting (Not saying I will, I've waited this long!) I'm sure I won't get my deposit back but what are the chances they'll allow me to pick something different off the lot instead (granted there's inventory)? TIA.

(Idk how the word “never” appeared in front of the title of my post in case anybody reads this. I don’t know how to delete this post it was supposed to read simply “ordering from Fowler Kia”)

I can't speak for that particular dealer. I ordered my 2022 Telluride in January and received it in June, exactly 5 months. My dealer told me to expect a a 5 - 7 month window, so they outperformed their estimate, as they should.

During the wait period, my salesman contacted me a few times to ask if I'd like to (instead) buy one that just arrived where the purchaser had cancelled their order. While none of these cars appealed to me, I was happy for the offers. Had I purchased one of those, then my order would have been cancelled but it would have arrived at the dealer and would have been offered to some other purchaser who had a car on order. My purchase was for MSRP and I was treated better at that dealership than for any other car purchase in my 50 year history of buying personal cars. Perhaps, your dealer will be just as good.

I should point out that the same dealer was selling (slightly) used Telluride's for way over MSRP, because they were immediately available; and by selling used cars above MSRP, they weren't violating their promise to sell new cares at no more than MSRP.

Keep the title the way it is. If things don't work out, your initial title may be correct. ;)

I so purchased from Fowler last year. Ordered in February and picked up in April. I received some communication as the process evolved, but I kept watching Failcat and made my own guess when mine showed up and then emailed my salesperson. He was great, but swamped. Once it got closer, he let me know the eta and I drove out to trade in our 20 S. While I was there, they were busy. I mean ridiculously busy. In the time I did my paperwork and came back to his desk to get the car, he had responded to 15 email order requests and received 30 more. It was nuts. They do their best in my experience. Their deposit was 100% refundable. Good luck with available inventory. Every Telluride they receive is an order.

That’s good to know. If they were busy then they must’ve been over their heads right before the holidays when my paperwork was mailed out which explains a lot. thanks!
